I haven't posted anything this winter. It has seemed pretty definite that everything will turn to trash the closer the model runs come to the event. NWS has downtown staying all rain, not even a sleet pellet and only "maybe" an inch where I am in Candler. So, hoping for a miracle. Seems like we are due. Anyway, I would like to concur with the compliments from above. I know so many people that say, I listen to this guy, lol. I say, Hunter?? Yeah, that's him. You do a great job, right or wrong and you are right more often than not. But, I don't envy anybody forecasting around here !!! So, keep doing doing what you are doing. People appreciate it. ... And this is not to minimize any other local forecaster.

That may be on the low end IF the models are correct. A big IF.

33 here. I wish it was 50. If there is no snow, I am ready for warmth.

I am not sure it is trending better yet.... Maybe on the operational GFS. The ensembles and the Euro show a pretty weak system. Hopefully, though, the GFS is correct and we get one last good snow before the warm up. I appreciate your optimism though.

10.5 at the airport as of midnight last night. I am not sure if they got much after midnight. It was pretty bare over there when I took my daughter home. I am at 16 inches at my house.

I got over an inch with that 1st batch yesterday and thought wow I overachiever. I have a little less than 5 inches this morning here in Candler!!! Unreal. I have seen pictures in Swannanoa and East Asheville of 8 inches. I have seen reports of a dusting in some places. Best NW flow since I lived in Leicester 10 years ago. MET 1985 and Hunter nailed this one.

One heck of a snow shower with very heavy snow. Has stopped for the moment.

The snow is beautiful. A beautiful blanket of snow and the trees covered in snow. I went to get my daughter in Arden and there was nothing.

I am down to 35. Yard, cars and trees getting white.

That air is really dry. Just the weight lifting, in shape flakes are making it through. The couch potato flakes are still laying down watching the big screen

Updated GSP discussion indicates a slower trough and longer NW flow. Their updated snow prediction map upped AVL from .4 to 1.2.

Showed some returns over us. Just virga. Maybe not too long.

Our hope levels are the same. Cover the ground. Everything else is just gravy. I hope your friends have fun and see lots of snow!

The only reason I hate missing any snow is because there will be a pattern change and February is rising over the hill. So, hopefully we can score before that happens. I haven't given up on this one, but we need some help. Next week there is promise, so we have that to look forward to.

Asheville did go from .7 inches of snow on the 0z Euro to 1.6 inches on the 6z. It would not take much for it to trend in our favor.
