  1. GFS with multiple snow chances through the whole run. It will probably change, but it's fun to look at.
  2. Only 17.1 here this morning. Bottomed out early and stopped. 14 remains my coldest of the season.
  3. About 9:30 it was 33.8 here, and 50 by 10:00. I thought something happened with my sensor, lol. Your temp rise was even more extreme than mine!
  4. Just a dusting here. Still nice to see snow in the air.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving to the subforum glue that holds us all together!!!
  6. Crazy. I had my lowest temp of the year. 27.5. Now, that is an inversion.
  7. I love snow, but I don't even know what to think about that. Definitely not a good thing during the recovery from this disaster. The positive thing is that I can't remember very many, of any, mid October snowstorms. But, we can only take what we are given. We can't control it.
  8. It probably will do no good, but this explains that FEMA is not spending funds inappropriately. I'm here in the middle of this and I have seen with my own eyes them helping in numerous ways https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/false-claims-fema-disaster-funds-migrants-pushed-trump-rcna173955
  9. Briefly have cell service for the 1st time since Friday. I'm in Candler, SW of Asheville. In line to get gas. I feel fortunate to be alive. The destruction is unimaginable. We have no cell service or power or water. Our food is about out, but we are trying to find some today, along with thousands of other people. Massive trees to clean up, but minor stuff compared to the complete tragedy that others have experienced. The rivers and wind have done just insane damage. No nightmares would match this reality.
  10. French Broad Asheville already at 9.28 feet with 6.66 inches of rain at 7:30 https://waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/03451500/#parameterCode=00045&period=P7D&showMedian=false
  11. French Broad River at Asheville at 9.28.Rain as of 7:30 6.66 inches. https://waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/03451500/#parameterCode=00045&period=P7D&showMedian=false
  12. He is doing an excellent job. That is the way that you present a serious weather situation. I know he gets some flack, but he is nailing this event.
  13. Flash flood warning Buncombe, Henderson, and Madison. https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=NCZ053&warncounty=NCC021&firewxzone=NCZ053&local_place1=2 Miles NE Biltmore Forest NC&product1=Flash+Flood+Warning&lat=35.5335&lon=-82.541
  14. Downtown Asheville rain gauge already over 2 inches. https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/asheville-weather/
  15. Thoughts and prayers for all that we somehow get through this unscathed. A forecast bust seems all but impossible now. So, l hope for the best for all my weather board friends. Already have heavy rain and thunder.
  16. Just getting ready to post that. This is the one for Buncombe. https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=NCZ053&warncounty=NCC021&firewxzone=NCZ053&local_place1=Bent Creek NC&product1=Tropical+Storm+Watch&lat=35.5109&lon=-82.6143 The first person who says after the fact that "the NWS didn't even say it was going to rain" needs to be told what an idiot that they are. It will happen. It does every time. The NWS pulled no punches talking about how dangerous it is. Now, it is up to the public to listen and use common sense.
  17. We can hope not, but I'm afraid that you are correct.
  18. No, absolutely not! You are going to see monumental totals.
  19. Wow! I had an inch yesterday. It is not looking good.
  20. They definitely do. It is not hype at all. It is a scary scenario.
