I am unfortunately all freezing rain now. Up to 26.6.

I keep hoping, by some miracle, that we never switch. I know that is not realistic.

All I have to go by are my cameras, but it looks like so far it has been mainly sleet here. It is coming down pretty good right now.

It's not common, for sure. 1996 was the one exception that I can think of. Big ice storm with snow on top. I remember the pines popping and the transformers blowing.

I have read that it is ingested, but that it would take a couple cycles to show up in the model result. Down to 11.8 this morning!

The GFS did not get the message that our winter storm is gone. Some mix in here, but still...

And I know we have the weekend to start. But checkout the GFS through the end of it's run. It could be rough sledding around. Pun intended. That's over 30 inches in many places.

Probably won't happen this way, but the end of the month totals on the GFS are fun ( or funny) to look at. Could you imagine this?

Surprisingly, down to 14.4 this morning so far. Really bottomed out. I will believe any snow forecasts when I am shoveling the result. I am hoping for no ice, and hoping the models are right for a change.

No snow here, but a little rain early morning froze on the roads. A lot of black ice and slick roads. Hoping we keep trending NW with any snow that might occur tonight.

Made it down to 10.9. Steadily rising this morning, though. 15.6 presently. Still not given up on the weekend system. It wouldn't take much to work in our favor. Good luck to the SW mountain people tonight.

I would take that in a heartbeat. I wish we could lock it in. Too many model runs to go.

The slightest of dusting here, but apparently West Buncombe and South Asheville have been hit hard enough to have some bad road conditions.

I think the best bet is to find the model that shows the absolute least amount of snow for the Central Mountains and the foothills. There is your forecast.
