  1. Crazy pics Met. That went from nothing to flooding so quickly. That fit the definition of flash flooding.
  2. Worst flooding in Candler since Nov. '77 in my opinion. 5 cars submerged on Smoky Park Hwy. according to WLOS.
  3. Can't get an inch of liquid when it snows, but getting less than inch when it rains any more is almost a surprise, lol.
  4. The rain is only broken up by temporary breaks. Then it rains and rains some more. Sigh.
  5. Looking at some NWS sites this morning, Little Rock has had 20 inches of snow this month and 15 inches on the ground.
  6. 33, lightning, thunder, and heavy rain. Can't see the bushes or trees yet to see if maybe there is some ice up in there. It is funny how the temp knows to stop at 33.
  7. I haven't even looked outside, but it is 34 here, so I doubt there is anything to look at.
  8. Me neither. The last real ice storm I even remember for Central to West Buncombe was in 1996. Huge ice storm with 4 inches of ice cold powder on top. Otherwise, we have had tree toppers and bridge icers.
  9. I will beat Brandon and Jeremy to wish an inch of ice on you. Or not, lol.
  10. We were better off with the marginal cold.
  11. So, I went on a fast 5 mile snow run(not StrongWxnc ultra marathon fast, but old man fast) I love running through the woods. The snow is at it's deepest, and undisturbed, except by the deer. I have been running in the morning at 22 degrees in the dark, so 36 had me down to t-shirt. A beautiful day !!!
  12. Just a little less than 4 inches here. Very pretty. I am glad we have got the snow that we got this winter. It has been a great winter. Long range models look like garbage, but this snow didn't show up on models until Thursday, so maybe more to come. That severe cold has disappeared for this model cycle. A really bitter cold snow would be a good addition to the winter.
  13. Very heavy snow. Everything covered. Roads included.
  14. Me too bud. I hope you get this. Accumulating fast. Pancake flakes. I hope it lasts until at least midnight.
  15. And just like that the sky has opened up. Big flakes, heavy snow. This will do the job. I hope it lasts for a while.
  16. Agreed. It accumulated when it actually snowed. Temp bouncing between 32 and 34. Just need heavier rates.
  17. Got about a 1/4 inch here and I bet I am still the big winner in Buncombe County. I had about 20 minutes of pretty good snow , then just light not very accumulating snow. Still waiting on better rates.
  18. Left Arden, 40 degrees light rain. Got back to Candler, snow and 33, ground is white.
  19. Totals keep going up. I hope it is right.
  20. Flurries here at 45 degrees. Seriously.
  21. Forecast models have been much kinder to us today.
  22. GEFS plumes for Asheville has a mean of 6.25 inches.
  23. Down in the valley, I will put the 2-4 in the good snow category.
