  1. You missed the black ice here. Apparently, really slick. Jealous? Just kidding !!! I know snow beats black ice any day of the week. I love Banner Elk. I hope you get blitzed with snow. Take lots of pictures.
  2. 21 degrees and actually a few flurries. Definitely feels like winter despite missing out on big snow.
  3. Late in a NAM run, but it really picks up on the upslope at the end of the run.
  4. Ha! Ha! They would realllllllllllyyyyyyy need the business.
  5. Great pictures Met, Buckethead, Phelps, Wxknurd, Snowbird, Moto, Tyler. I love seeing them!!!
  6. Any of you border counties picking up anything? I have a friend just over the border in TN that says 23 and freezing drizzle. They said it is a skating rink there.
  7. 7 degrees Wed morning. 47 and rain Thursday afternoon. Nice. There is a snow likely Thursday night (with of course they always awesome, little or no accumulation) but I will believe it when I see it. Anyway, good luck to all. At a minimum, maybe we can all avoid busted pipes.
  8. We'll get ours before the winter is done. There is time.
  9. It was raining pretty good from Weaverville to almost downtown, nothing in town, and picked up again about Brevard Rd near the outlets. Temps were 35 in Weaverville, 41 in town, and 37 here in Candler. Really varied conditions today. No snow though.
  10. So, I was bored. I drove 26 to find snow. I got to Buckner Gap 3370 ft and there was a mix. I got to Sam's Gap and there was the beginning of snow with some on the ground in TN. There was more in TN but it diminished quickly. A few miles outside Erwin, the temp dropped to 30 and it was pouring snow. Snow on the ground and snow on the interstate. A few miles down the road in Erwin was a mix again though there was some on the ground. I turned around there and got back to Sam's Gap and it was heavy snow on the TN side, but quickly diminished on the NC side. Bottom line, the cold air in the upper atmosphere is somewhere near Erwin, TN. It was fun to see snow for a little bit.
  11. We've been between 33 & 35 here in Candler. When we did have some light precip, it was rain.
  12. I have been between 33 & 35 here, but when we did have a little precip, it was light rain. Not even the hint of a flake.
  13. That plus no moisture. You want 4 inches of flooding rain. At your service my good man ! You want even just a few flurries, go to hell, lol!!!!
  14. No problem!! I appreciate it. I like everybody.
  15. Lol. I like all these guys, but at 2200 feet, I am a mountain guy ... without the mountain results lately. I appreciate the invite. I will bounce back and forth.
  16. Westmc9th is Asheville. We suck at snow, but we are not foothills, lol. Nothing wrong with the foothills though.... And wncsnow is just negative. He means no harm. He would be excited as anybody if we could get snow.
  17. Ha! Ha! Yes. I don't hold out much hope for it, but I might as well ride something good until the ultimate 43 degree wind driven drizzle.
  18. I have thrown in all my chips on the wrf-arw! https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/?model=wrf-arw&region=us&pkg=ref_frzn
  19. Not in this particular thread, "The Mountain Thread". For the SE forum as a whole, I'm sure you are correct.
  20. This is the first time that I have been optimistic in 2 years. I think we have a good chance to at minimum to finally get at least an inch.
