  1. if we get a hot spell it will be from an atlantic ridge retrograde which can push any cutoff far enough to our east. the classic plains heat releases are just not working out this year
  2. so what's up with all the chipmunks this year
  3. in 2018 we had to wait for the subtropical ridge expansion to give us more S to SW flow and we got hot toward august
  4. if i cancelled winter on dec 19th everyone here would scream bloody murder. lol
  5. the central park asos has been irrelevant since 1996
  6. looking like another summer of high dewpoints and muted high temps yet still averaging above normal. probably lots of nearly saturated skinny cape days with flash flooding
  7. remember when week 3 looked amazing and it never happened
  8. unless there's severe blocking the default is above normal
  9. the easterly flow pattern might end by wednesday if the cutoff sinks far enough to the south
  10. the warm front passed through springfield. temp went from 86 to 88
  11. the canadian kicks out the ULL too and the euro just shifted well east with it so maybe we can salvage the second half of next week
