Eastern PA just upgraded to a slight risk. Hopefully I can see one good storm because I’m about to leave for my yearly storm chasing vacation tomorrow and the pattern looks abysmal for at least the first half of it.
Nonstop rain starting Sat/Sun...then I leave to go storm chasing on the plains next Thursday and the pattern looks horrid for the first half of my trip. I will be hating the weather for a good week or more.
12z NAM has some snow in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday morning too. C-1” before it changes to rain and quickly melts. Still would be pretty unusual to see in mid-April with the trees budding.
At my mechanic getting some lights on my dash checked out and there’s a guy there in a T-shirt and shorts. No jacket anywhere to be seen. It’s currently 39 and windy.
On my way home from the Union game (unfortunately they tied 0-0 tonight) and this is a halfway decent storm we’re in. Heavy rain with a bit of lightning. Lots of storms developing behind it, hopefully Allentown can get in on the fun later.
3km NAM has a nasty squall line sweep through the area this evening. The HRRR keeps storms weaker and has them stay mostly south of I-78. Will be interesting to see how today plays out.
Some of the hi-res models are hinting at a backdoor cold front moving through tomorrow night. Hopefully the warm front can make it far enough north on Sunday so we’re not cloudy and cool.
