  1. 12z GFS/CMC both have measurable snow down to the Lehigh Valley on Friday.
  2. It’s raining in Allentown! Looks like it’ll be slightly more than a trace too. We’ll take what we can get.
  3. Still no weenie snow maps though at least we have Pivotal as a free source for those.
  4. I'm interested in that ULL swinging through in about a week. I think there's a decent chance some of us see our first flakes of the season.
  5. Another large brush fire in Berks County. This one is fairly close to Reading and some homes are being evacuated.
  6. This is disgusting. It’s November FFS. At least hoodie weather returns this weekend, and hopefully stays.
  7. Fairly large wildfire is currently burning in northern Lehigh County. Some homes near the mountain are in danger, I don’t think any have been directly affected yet though. A little bit of rain would be helpful but it looks like we have another week before our next chance.
  8. Euro keeps most of us bone dry for the entire run with that high still firmly locked in place at the end of the run. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything quite like this pattern around here. We can't even get scattered showers.
  9. Models have been trending drier for Friday morning. Now it looks like our next legit chance of rain is Monday with some WAA action from a system in the midwest. I’ll take anything at this point.
  10. Man the 6z GFS is brutal. Aside from the round of showers on Friday morning it keeps that high pressure locked in for the entire run. Not a single drop of rain after Friday, and no rain within 1000 miles at the end of the run.
  11. Wouldn’t it be funny if our next measurable precip came in the form of snow?
  12. Got a hoodie and winter hat on and half a tank of gas. I’ll be fine.
  13. Oh baby they are out again! Bright red and green pillars overhead! Wow!
  14. Just a word of advice for you guys. Don’t go to a golf course to view the northern lights. I did and I went to leave and now I can’t leave because they’ve locked the gate. I didn’t know they had a gate. So now I think I’m stuck here till the morning.
  15. Northern horizon starting to glow green now. Pretty dull to the naked eye but very vivid with the phone camera.
  16. Yep still visible with the naked eye. Just barely. Really hope this ramps up again at some point.
  17. WOW!!! Naked eye aurora visible in Allentown! Didn’t even have to leave my driveway!
  18. Looks like some late nights ahead. Watching chaser streams tonight then chasing the aurora tomorrow and Friday nights. Bring it on!
  19. Another big chance for aurora tomorrow night. Looks like clear skies for all of us too. Assuming the predicted solar conditions hold I’ll be heading to the hills of northwestern Lehigh County to try to view them.
  20. Our significant, newsworthy events are far less severe than in other areas. We’re getting 20 inches of snow? Try 6 feet in a week in the mountains out west or the lake effect snow belts. A hurricane is traveling up the east coast? Probably a cat 1 at best here after devastating the southeast. Severe weather outbreak likely? Lots of minor wind damage and maybe a tornado or two, meanwhile Alabama and Oklahoma are dealing with EF3+ tornadoes.
  21. I'm already over fall. The worst season for northeast weenies unless we get a strong tropical system affecting us. Storm season passed a month ago and snow likely won't get here for another 2 months. We're just stuck in a boring cycle of sun and rain without anything particularly exciting.
  22. Well, we all complained about how dry it was just a week ago. We just didn’t think the streak would break by not being able to see the sun for an entire week.
  23. That’s Connor Croff, he’s a very experienced storm chaser. I see him streaming all the time during tornado season in the plains. Not sure how much experience he has with hurricanes.
