GFS is shades of the often forgotten January 2018 coastal blizzard. Close to 2 feet and hours of legit blizzard conditions in Point Pleasant Beach that day.

just think of how much money was made on Facebook showing fantasy storm snow outputs.

couple of stray flurries at my Wall Twp office. I will enjoy a break from the relentless cold for a few days. So will my heating bill.
-
Only 3600 without power in JCPL area which I am surprised it's that low. Hopefully this doesn't keep up for too long. I believe Sandy Hook just recorded a 58.

We need a HWW here. Gusts 55-60 easily. Its insane.
-
look at the last 3 runs of the Canadian. Definite shift.
-
outages have jumped to close to 25,000 in the JCPL footprint. that's about triple what we had this morning.
-
warning issued here in Monmouth/Ocean Counties - for whatever is coming. We had a shower a few minutes ago that literally roared over my Wall Township office. it wasnt warned but the winds just above must be insane.

The 8-9 inch amounts along the 195 corridor was a nice positive bust for a change.

It's going to be a week of stay aware and alert driving on the interstates and toll roads as we'll be dodging flying ice at 70 mph.

7.5 Point Beach. Finally done and temperature dropped 3 degrees in the last 30 minutes. Down now to 28.9
-
7 inches in Point Beach. Much of that is compacted. There will be 8-9 inch totals somewhere along 195.

Low of 17.8 this morning here at the beach. Impressive.

St. Elizabeth region. My cousin has family and friends there who shared this video with me. This is what was left behind. I assure you the people there are determined, strong, resilient, and proud. Messenger_creation_215C4D57-055B-46A6-BD85-967EA32C854C.mp4 -
I am in Tuckerton just rode with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department on a sherp. The entire Tuckerton Beach neighborhood is under water approaching major flooding stage. High tide is still 2 hours away as the winds have ramped back up. There are homes with water inside of them (ones that were not raised) and several vehicles like this one lost.

I am really concerned about Monmouth / Ocean County beaches and bay flooding. We are seeing the Shark River already over one lane in Belmar (not unusual, and into Neptune Township. just wasn't expecting it this tide cycle) Barnegat Bay is already flooding areas on the eastern mainland shores.

closely monitoring this weekend system. Beaches for the most part up in Northern Ocean/Monmouth survived the offshore hurricanes quite well. The spring/summer replenishment from Lavallette to Bay Head held as well. I would be concerned about unprotected beaches like Belmar/Avon/Asbury Park if this holds. Will Walt be starting a thread on this?

Sitting and sweating outside in the yard under a pure blue sky. Water temps still in the 70s. Endless summer rolls on. ☀️☀️
