I just turned that feature on for the desktop version. Very nice, thanks! I wonder how you can submit a report. Off to Google... -
January 7th First Snow for some N&W folks Discussion

It's our first real snow of the season, and my wife is kinda losing it. She's worried about the roads tomorrow afternoon, and just now she asked me if the snowblower was working and if I wanted to move it to the garage tonight. I told her it's not a bread and milk type of snow and sent her this. -

Definitely looked like a snow sky on my way home from work around 4pm. Should be a nice little event. -

I can't wait. WU is calling for 2-4" for my area; this will be my new puppy's first experience with snow. She's a year old beagle mix but she was a rescue from Louisiana of all places. -
Heck yeah, a day off (Friday) and measurable snow to track. Got to work this morning just before all heck broke loose on the highways. Was just a tiny bit slick at 5:30am when I crossed the DMB.

I figured! We're mostly level C but occasionally spend time in B. Not fun, but supplied air has it's benefits on super hot days at least.

I'm a recently-minted geologist. One of my long-term assignments is performing soil-core analysis at an environmental remediation site in NJ. Which means that I've been working outside most days out of the past two years. Dead of winter, low double-digit temps and gusts blowing 30-40 with frozen precip and spray coming off the Delaware river? Been there. High 90's and DP's in the high 70s under a sweltering, summer sun? Done that, and everything in between. It's usually super windy where I'm at, and I can count on maybe two hands the number of actually pleasant outside working days I've had at the site in the past two years. My previous career was as an electronics tech so I never really got to experience this much raw weather first hand before, though I've always enjoyed a good storm, be it wet or white. Working almost exclusively outside has really given me first-hand, er, exposure to our Mid-Atlantic climate in a way that has both fascinated, frightened and awed me at times. I always try to stay motivated by the mantra "the worst day working outside beats the best day working in a cube" because most of time it's been true. Most of the time. Ha. Please forgive me in advance for oversharing, and thanks for asking. As for current obs, cold out right now at home, just the way it should be. Still refusing to mow.

That was my first winter back in the area after living out of state for about 15 years. I distinctly recall telling my wife (a Cali girl) "Oh, no, it hardly ever snows here. Maybe a couple of inches here and there." I think the snow-on-snow glacier lasted well into March on that one. Today was cold! Luckily I got to sit in my car for half the day, waiting on other people to get their stuff sorted. Just a couple of inches on the ground in Pennsville, but it was pretty.

Storm on the 7th with accumulating snow would be awesome since I'll be working from home that day. Bring it on. Currently properly cold out at 21.7°F. Gonna be wearing thermals tomorrow at work for sure. First day back on the ole' drill site in SNJ after stomping around in the Mojave for the last couple of months.

TOTALLY feel ya bud. Been there many times. Hope you guys south and west of me get some this time. Feelin' it.
-
Guidance seems to have shifted north. Interesting.

I'm feeling weird on this one. A: I'm in Reading, so maybe we'll get some mood flakes up here, looking forward to that and not expecting any accumulation whatsoever. B: I have to report to work down across the river from Wilmington on Tuesday morning, so not at all sure how that will play out. Either way, I majorly cashed out last Feb so I'm hoping others at points south and west at least get some points on the board with this one.

Just drove from Exton to Reading. Car thermo read 60 in Exton and then we drove through some kind of frontal boundary and it dropped pretty quickly. It read 46 when I pulled into the driveway just now. Got pretty gusty, too.

I noticed this only shows snowfall up to 7pm tomorrow... They are waiting it seems.

Best of luck! The sun just poked through tthe cloud cover for a couple of minutes and my temp immediately shot up to 58°F. If you look at the satellite, you can just make out that cloud break right over my house lol.

Well dang. I'm scheduled to start work again on the 4th in Salem County, NJ. Looks like it's trending south at least.

Might still do if it needs it. Looks pretty dormant but with everything else still growing outside I may just bite the bullet and mow it this Sunday or Monday (if it's dry enough). Weird times. Saw actual snow in the desert (Mojave) before seeing snow at home. Last Feb's monster storms are giving me hope there is still something for us in this new year though. Here's hoping for a wondrous and snowy bottom end of 2022 everybody!

My wife's been hinting that our lawn is the longest in the neighborhood (was cut last just before Thanksgiving) but thus far I have refused to accept reality. How's that Adam Savage quote go? "I reject your reality and substitute my own" or something to that affect. Anyway, grey and 50°F beats 70 and sunny any day in my book, so at least there's that. Still not mowing the lawn though.

Happy Christmas, everyone! Quick shot of the absolute mountain of gifts we will be transporting on the morrow to a friend's house for celebrations and libations amongst friends and family. Cheers and good tidings (and thoughts of future deep snow) to all!

That makes total sense. I'm scheduled to be working outside starting on the 4th. Time to break out all the cold weather gear!

What a weird time that was. I was working my first full-time, outdoor gig, having been hired on right before all the lockdowns. Apparently folks involved in environmental remediation were somehow considered "essential personnel". For two months, I enjoyed practically zero traffic on my way down to southern NJ and back each day--I remember it being cold up until late in the month of May, and then all of a sudden it was 70°F and I was sweating in the Tyvek. Weird, wild times. Speaking of cold weather, my grass is crunchy this morning. Still kinda hoping we see some flurries or something tomorrow or Saturday, but it looks like that chance is waning. Still, at least it's properly cold for this time of year.
