  1. Up to 1.4" as of right now, and 2.23" for the week. Our collective lawns are about to explode.
  2. Yesterday felt like late fall around here, since it was cold and blustery and the trees are all still bare, and today feels like more of the same only not as breezy. One of my neighbors was out doing yard work in a winter jacket and knit hat; it just seemed incongruous to me. My own lawn is starting to have patches of mowable grass, so next weekend I guess it'll be my turn (especially if all of this supposed rain in the forecast comes our way). Currently overcast and 50°F. Enjoying this while it lasts. I have several large outdoor projects in the queue for late spring and summer (building a deck, rebuilding and staining my fence, and the yearly mulch refreshing to name a few). I am definitely not looking forward to the sweaty season.
  3. Up nearly a half inch of precip from round two. Total 1.21" tonight thus far.
  4. Ok, looks like I'm about to get round two. Seeing some significant pink in the radar returns to my west; hope that passes us by as both of our cars are parked outside due to an ongoing woodworking project taking up the entire garage. (Building some enclosed raised beds and tomato towers fwiw.)
  5. Convection picked back up again after it hopped over Reading. Got .75" in the gauge, temp now at 59°F, down from 66 right before the storms.
  6. All the thunder and lightning around Reading just kind of... stopped? We're getting fringed by the heaviest rain, too. Hoping the main line that's still moving east won't dissolve like everything else. Sheesh, what gives?
  7. Thankfully not seeing much in the way of rotation out this way.
  8. Mesoscale Discussion 0378 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0240 PM CDT Thu Mar 31 2022 Areas affected...South-central into northeastern Pennsylvania Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 87... Valid 311940Z - 312145Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 87 continues. SUMMARY...Threat for damaging wind gusts and a couple of tornadoes, particularly in parts of central/eastern Pennsylvania, will continue this afternoon/evening. A new watch will likely be needed into parts of southeast New York and New Jersey as activity continues to the east. DISCUSSION...Skies have remained relatively clear across parts of central/eastern Pennsylvania ahead of a line of convection that has shown increase in coverage and lightning activity. Surface observational trends have also shown a localized area of pressure falls ahead of this activity. Damaging wind gusts and isolated marginally severe hail will remain a concern as these storms continue eastward. Given the backed surface winds in eastern Pennsylvania and 850 mb winds that should remain strong to the east, there will also be a threat for QLCS circulations/tornadoes. As this activity is expected to continue into southeastern New York and New Jersey, a new watch will likely be needed this afternoon. ..Wendt.. 03/31/2022 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
  9. 68 and winds 15mph gusting to low 20s. The warmth and humidity feel kinda good after it being so cold so late in the year imho. Healthy line of convection out to the west: Watches are also up to the west, should get ours soon as well I think.
  10. Winds just started picking up here as well. Nearly a 20°F temp increase in a matter of minutes!
  11. 38°F and sleeting here. I think we've been under virga for a while but it's now pinging against my office windows.
  12. Saw that. I'd like to think I would have hustled myself and everyone else back behind the tree line ASAP but I don't know if I'd have had the presence of mind to do so after being in a wreck like that. 13. 26.7°F and lightly snowing. (Lake effect?) It's sticking as well, which strikes me as bizarre. I mean, I know we get late-season snows pretty often around here, but I thought we were done this year. Enjoying it while it lasts!
  14. Alright, we did finally get some rain (after my little rant yesterday). .56" between late last night and this morning. We're supposed to get another quarter inch tonight as well.
  15. It's just been spitting all afternoon. Feels very English. Nothing to show for it in the rain gauge, either. .5" forecasted, my butt. 42°F here now.
  16. Dang. I'm going to miss all the action tonight--going to a hockey game downtown.
  17. 71, cloudy and breezy here. Felt good to get some yard work done. Starting to see some storms creeping up from the SW though.
  18. Got up to 76.6°F today. Now the clouds have rolled in and were just a tick under 70. Neither the heater nor the A/C was needed today though, so that was nice.
  19. I just humped 3 bags of salt from the garage to the shed and applied a round of fertilizer and bug-be-gone to the front and back yard. Also checked the state of my generator, noticed the starter batt didn't have enough juice to crank, and then I noticed some idiot had left the fuel line open since the last time it was run. (Dammit.) She wouldn't start from the pull start, either. Now, I know the gas that was in there was stabilized, but it's probably been a year since I (er, I mean, some idiot) had run it. So I guess I'll be doing a carb teardown at some point in the near future. Got up to 71.9°F here today. Everybody (besides me) was grilling, the neighborhood smelled awesome.
  20. Must just be virga. Nothing made it to the ground as of yet.
  21. Got up to 69.9°F today, and now it's looking like we're going to get a completely unexpected little shower just as I'm about to grill some dinner. Boooooo. Eh. I'ma do it anyway. A little rain never hurt anybody.
