  1. Truck ban on limited access highways in CT starting at 5 PM.
  2. Agreed. Since we are attached to Albany, I sometimes think we are afterthoughts when it comes to these things since most of there CWA is much further inland.
  3. I feel so left out here in Litchfield County (j/k). The way I'm looking at it, if the wind performs close to what is predicted, +/- a couple of inches of snow will be immaterial. I'm on top of a hill where the wind screams so measuring the snow will be a guess at best.
  4. I hope I'm wrong, but feels like we are on the slow rot to spring.
  5. I love it when the wind is cranking the snow around out there. Bring it!
  6. The little bastards are going to be hiding under snow and make it just fine through this. I hate those thing!
  7. As the crow flies, I live less than 2 miles away on top of a hill and it always amazes me what the differences are between here and there.
  8. I would love to see some wind with this. I'm on top of Town Hill one town over in New Hartford and the wind routinely rocks here. We just have not had an event with significant fluff and wind in the 7 years we have been here.
  9. Snow growth really popped and it is on. Couple of hours of this and we will really be approaching double digits for sure.
  10. Pouring here in New Hartford. No wind to speak of - was windier earlier before the storm arrived.
  11. The Cornwall/Falls Village area here in Connecticut is insane with black gnats all summer long. I used to do outside work there in my younger years as well as my in-laws used to live there and from May to Frost it was miserable to be outside unless there was 40 mph wind.
  12. Pretty wild winds as that moved through here in New Hartford!
  13. I've got +/- 2 inches of solid ice on the driveway. Put 200 pounds of salt on it earlier and it is just laughing at me. Driveway is about 1/4 mile long and only really worrying on the inclines - we are about 60 feet below the road. I teach salt application trainings for public works and well in this circumstance everything I preach will go out the window because I could not get out to the road right now if I had to.
  14. Front has not reached here yet - temp has not changed yet.
  15. I would say just a hair under that - I hate trying to measure accretion.
  16. It will be quite interesting to see what happens. The whole house generator may get a workout. The power has already been flicking all afternoon. So many really dead rotting ash trees waiting for gravity to win and this may speed this up.
  17. Is the colder air still expected to come into NW CT to come in around 7-8:00? Man, the ice dangling in the trees is going to be something when the wind comes up. Right at 32 degrees now.
