Hopefully something breaks right otherwise this is pretty sums up this winter. It would be nice to be a short fuse event - the long fuse ones usually disappoint.
Frosty sleeps with the fishes after this. There is still snow cover but we are still at 33 degrees (I'm at 1k feet for elevation). Don't anticipate much happening here. I would love a sleet fest, but we are in the fourth quarter...
Going to need to pull a rabbit out of the hat for this one to have much of an impact around here.
Last couple of days have seemed to be one step forward and 1.5 steps back in these parts. Northern peeps for the win.
Have no idea how much snow we have here - the wind is making a measurement impossible. The snow stake depth keeps vacillating between 5 and 6 inches. It will get up to 6 and the wind will knock it down to 5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Just doesn't look like there is a enough westward push to get the moderate goods up here into Litchfield County. I will admit that I'm envious of others in the bull's eye, but enjoy the ride. (I can always hope Mother Nature pulls a rabbit out of the hat)
For Boxing Day storm in Ellington/Somers we had so little snow it was really bizarre as the farmland on some drumlins in Somers just norths of Ellington had all the snow blown off and everything was covered in dirt. The winds picked up the soil and covered what little snow there was.
