  1. Hopefully something breaks right otherwise this is pretty sums up this winter. It would be nice to be a short fuse event - the long fuse ones usually disappoint.
  2. Frosty sleeps with the fishes after this. There is still snow cover but we are still at 33 degrees (I'm at 1k feet for elevation). Don't anticipate much happening here. I would love a sleet fest, but we are in the fourth quarter...
  3. Just came back through Riverton and Pleasant Valley in Barkhamsted and the car thermometer was bouncing between 34 and 35 degrees.
  4. Me thinks it is time to say goodbye to Frosty the Snowman.
  5. Going to need to pull a rabbit out of the hat for this one to have much of an impact around here. Last couple of days have seemed to be one step forward and 1.5 steps back in these parts. Northern peeps for the win.
  6. I like waiting until after the Euro as well. Feels like things get ramped up a notch once the thread exists.
  7. Thats stinks. Let's still do February big!
  8. Let's do February big to give you a great send off before you move south.
  9. Have no idea how much snow we have here - the wind is making a measurement impossible. The snow stake depth keeps vacillating between 5 and 6 inches. It will get up to 6 and the wind will knock it down to 5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
  10. Just doesn't look like there is a enough westward push to get the moderate goods up here into Litchfield County. I will admit that I'm envious of others in the bull's eye, but enjoy the ride. (I can always hope Mother Nature pulls a rabbit out of the hat)
  11. For Boxing Day storm in Ellington/Somers we had so little snow it was really bizarre as the farmland on some drumlins in Somers just norths of Ellington had all the snow blown off and everything was covered in dirt. The winds picked up the soil and covered what little snow there was.
  12. Love it if the cold holds strong for a little while longer than expected and have some of the heavy stuff come through.
  13. We are going to be very close to the really good stuff on this one - but will probably be 20-30 miles north of us here in Litchfield County.
  14. Light snow 20/15. The race is on to see how much we can squeeze out before the warm air ultimately wins.
  15. I'm hoping to get a reasonable event as the past couple of years have been better out east.
  16. Been holding at 20 degrees - DP has been slowly creeping up currently at 13. Surface winds have been constant out the north so far.
