  1. There goes the watch for SNE - I guess we will see what comes of it.
  2. As I posted in the banter thread - Northeastern Mass was insane with pollen, it actually improved as we came down into CT. It looked like smoke at a distance, but it was greenish color. Nasty!
  3. Drove home to CT today from Maine and the pollen in the in Northeastern Massachusetts was crazy. The air had a sick green color to it from the start of 495 down to the Pike.
  4. Sorry to hear that Tip, sometimes life can have a cruel streak.
  5. Wind is screaming here, pretty awesome. Power has been blinking a lot. Have a really long steep driveway (1/4 mile) and just went out to scrape the crud off the driveway and it is frozen solid. John Deere with 59 inch snowblower was not going budging it. Luckily it is March and tomorrow should do wonders. (Just like to keep the driveway open in the event of an emergency.)
  6. Fingers crossed. I would at least like to completely cover the grass once more.
  7. This thing is really cruising. Radar starting to shred in southern NJ and SE PA.
  8. Down to 30 - hopefully snow growth improves otherwise it will never cover the grass.
  9. If we can get into some heavy snow for a little while the way the wind is blowing - that could be awesome.
  10. Sticking with seasonal persistence, there is no way we end up with more than 5 inches
  11. Just pinging here. at 32 and the wind is starting to crank.
  12. We might have hit 6 inches once, but we have really struggled to get past 5 inches in virtually every event which is probably where we will end up tonight.
  13. Just under 5 inches here in New Hartford. 5 Inches has been a popular storm total here all winter.
  14. Nammy showing signs of life for Wednesday event. Not expecting much here for tonight.
  15. We did exactly that with the high efficiency boiler and the whole house generator.
  16. Built a house a couple of years ago. We buried 2 - 1,000 gallon propane tanks (which we own) and paid for partial depth spray foam insulation then fiberglass on top of that. We heat using hydronic radiant heat for whole house - much lower temperatures coming off the boiler which makes it more efficient. I can't complain, over the last year we used a little more than 800 gallons of propane and just got a fill up for $2.13 a gallon last week. My wife did not want to do the spray foam for $4k - she is very happy with it now. If you are building a house, it is well worth spending the cash for efficiency upgrades. Many of the upgrades can't be done after the fact.
  17. This thing is cruising. It will done here in another hour or so.
  18. Flakage getting that look like sleet is getting close here in New Hartford. Eyeballing 3-4 inches right now.
  19. Just got a lot more interesting and the wind is cranking. Too bad it will be so short lived.
  20. Snowing here to your south, but not anything crazy.
  21. Line starting to get that magical parting look to it as it enters CT. Not liking the trajectory of the parting. Looks to be heading straight towards me.
  22. We have the temperature but I fear once again the moisture will be lacking unless there is one more NW push.
