  1. You probably just needed the outside unit then. Our outside unit is 30+ years old so the whole system (not the ducts, but the blower/air handler upstairs) would need replaced.
  2. We got a full AC priced last year (not dead yet) and it was $12,000. As much as a roof!
  3. Early 12Z's are pretty dry even for Sat. 3K has some activity this afternoon but less on Sat. Sat night and Sunday Early AM has some action.
  4. The HRRR shows a moderate level today (we are in a Code Orange as well) buy the piece of energy rolling through later this morning/afternoon helps usher some out....but still some smoke Sat, just not at the level shown below.
  5. It seems to find whomever complains more.
  6. Sixers are working Harden to find a way to get under the Cap
  7. Not much support for Friday rain on the Mesos's or Globals at 12Z. Better chances later Sat into Sunday. The PA split shows up on both the GFS and CMC:
  8. We travelled over to Panama City quite a bit. It was just 15 min away. That was outside the old canal zone and more like a typical city...good and bad. We were there when the transition from US control to Panama control started and there were some ugly anti-American situations in the non-zone areas. Have to be careful when typing canal zone. One missed c and all of a sudden you are in Deliverance.
  9. Panama is a favorite landing destination for US Expats (though Mexico is as well). Many people there owe their lifestyle to the former canal zone, and they treat Americans well.
  10. Panama is not Mexico. But I meant no one in my family. Ha. We were in the canal zone as well. Probably safer there than the average street in any large US city.
  11. AC was not too common back then...at least not in homes. When we moved back to PA in the 80's we still did not have AC in a house that is worth 300K on Zillow right now (Ac since added, just not a slum). Our bodies were used to it. Sleeping was the toughest thing. I have friends from Brazil that keep their house "below 90" re: rarely turn on their AC, and they say they get chilly at night sometimes.
  12. Ha. We got our a few years before he officially came into power.
  13. We truly are getting less tolerant to heat as almost everything is conditioned now. I lived in Panama for 3 years and had no AC at times. 85/80 at night and 105/85 during the day. It sucked but no one died.
  14. Sounds good. People used to go to the mall when their AC broke. Ha. This will prepare you if you get stuck in Orlando after a hurricane.
  15. Northeast Drought Summary Heavy rains fell in parts of the Northeast this week, bringing localized relief to areas of drought and abnormal dryness. Moderate and severe drought coverage lessened over large sections of Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, where recent heavy rains improved streamflows and alleviated some of the short-term precipitation deficits. Conditions also improved in parts of New York, Maine, Massachusetts, western New Jersey and Virginia due to scattered heavy rains in the last week. Moderate drought increased in coverage in eastern Long Island, where short-term precipitation deficits grew and streamflow rates dwindled.
  16. 51 and smoky this AM. Several 40's a bit west of me.
  17. I am fairly removed from the Adams County line, about 10 mile west. My back yard is almost on the M/D line. I was in the .01 area of which that .01 was drops but radar did show deep green here; thus the estimated .01 totals. My second place is a bit east and closer to the Adams County line albeit in MD. No grass there....fully wooded place.
  18. Wagons East for water. In this case .01 means some drops, I can confirm we were T'ed up but no measurable.
  19. It is the same thing, yes. He has been served 3 times now I believe. I was being sarcastic about another one.
  20. I wonder if they plan to serve Diesel his latest summons in Balt or Philly?
