  1. Missing those cells out west of me? They are really small.
  2. He said no for both. Not saying I agree but he went out of his way to say no heat wave. Not sure why. He suggested tomorrow will be much more cloudy and rainy
  3. Joe Calhoun says the 90's are done for a long while (MDT)
  4. Early bird nooners...mostly cloudy and 81. MDT banging an 88. Spotty showers forming through the LSV.
  5. New Drought map. Quite similar....most people in D2 stayed there and some people avoided it with weekend rains. Northeast Drought Summary Heavy rains fell in parts of the Northeast this week, bringing continued relief to areas of drought and abnormal dryness (particularly along the Atlantic coast from Philadelphia up through New York and through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine) and improving streamflows and alleviating some of the short-term precipitation deficits. The North Atlantic coast saw abnormal dryness completely removed from Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, except for the Cape Cod area, which still remains in abnormally dry condition. Conditions also improved in parts of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia due to scattered heavy rains in the last week. Severe drought in central Maryland and southeast Pennsylvania remains from last week. Full Summary
  6. 90 degree or higher days as of EOD July 6th @ MDT. Stopped at 2015 as that was the last year, we had the lack of heat similar to this year. 2023-4 (Assuming they reach it today, could be 3) 2022-8 2021-14 2020-8 2019-8 2018-10 2017-8 2016-7 2015-3
  7. PAZ057-059-063-065-066-070400- Dauphin-Lebanon-Cumberland-York-Lancaster- 330 PM EDT Wed Jul 5 2023 ...AIR QUALITY ALERT IS IN EFFECT FOR THURSDAY JULY 6... 8. HRRR has 94-95. Not sure what is up with MDT still at 90 on their 5 min readings.
  9. MDT just had to scratch and claw their way to 90...just made it.
  10. Yea, they keep forming then dying. They are very small though (except the one near Cumberland.) Pretty far away right now.
  11. Tennis today will be less than ideal. Up to 87 here. If the clouds do not ruin it, today could be our first 90 day of the Summer.
  12. Seems a good bet they make it today (cloudy over here and raining popping just to our west, something to watch) but just getting up to 3 on July 5th is not too shabby.
  13. A little over a week away from Met Summers Mid-Point and MDT has only had two 90-degree days so far.
  14. I think it also depends on your tank size and if you are filling up gas cans. An 18-gallon tank that is down to 1-gallon left could save $33 before the deduction for wasting gas while waiting. But the people here were within 10 min of everyday $3.29/gal gas in Maryland so their savings is even more muted.
  15. Was just driving by the Rouzerville Sheetz. About 1/3 of the pumps are closed now (out of gas) and there about 25-30 cars lined back route 16 a quarter mile then you have about 10-15 more to get through once in the parking lot so 35-40 car line. I was told the wait time is 120-150 minutes right now especially with so many pumps closed. To their credit they are doing it in an organized manner where someone is standing out directing people which pump to go when a spot opens. Saw lots of people filling up dozens of gas cans. Maybe that is why they are waiting because you eat all your profits away waiting in a running car for 2-3 hours.
  16. Monday, July 3, was the hottest day ever recorded globally, according to data from the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction. The average global temperature reached 17.01 degrees Celsius (62.62 Fahrenheit), surpassing the August 2016 record of 16.92C (62.46F) as heatwaves sizzled around the world. The southern U.S. has been suffering under an intense heat dome in recent weeks. In China, an enduring heatwave continued, with temperatures above 35C (95F). North Africa has seen temperatures near 50C (122F). And even Antarctica, currently in its winter, registered anomalously high temperatures. Ukraine's Vernadsky Research Base in the white continent's Argentine Islands recently broke its July temperature record with 8.7C (47.6F).
  17. Yep, was just telling my dad the same thing. You have a 12-gallon tank with 10 open gallon space, and you save $1.85 a gallon over an hour or two period you can argue that it was a net loss. LOL.
  18. You can still find Mad Elf if you do a little searching. If not, Giant Nimble is delicious.
