  1. Yea, but many a met will argue that ANY clouds will limit cooling even a cirro deck of clouds. I did not investigate how "high" the smoke actually was but if it at 50,000 feet then I agree my point was meaningless but I was figuring it was at best 10-20K.
  2. So after last evening the data suggests a smoky sky is not one that will limit radiational cooling like a cloudy sky.
  3. This reminds me of the SNL skit called The Californians. On our sky maybe this is what the Dino's saw at the start of the end.
  4. OP EC still trying to deliver some southern rain. Nothing for the parched north unfortunately.
  5. I think Ahold is owner of both but their logo's are different and in MD the Giants want nothing to do with my PA Giant card. If Shasta's are 4 for a Dollar with your bonus card I have to pay $.50 each if in MD unless the Cashier is kind enough to swipe a community card. The MD Giant's are named Giant Food's and based in Landover (Let's Go Caps) while the PA Giant is based in Carlisle but like you said I think they are both owned by Netherlands Ahold.
  6. And to make it even more confusing we do not have any Giants we have Martins but my points card says Giant but if I go into Maryland go to Giant they tell me to get my PA ass out of their store.
  7. Your have some big dog stores in that plaza. I have to drive 20-30 min for any of that stuff.
  8. On that Sat image I showed Franklin was pretty clear but there was stuff north of my county. The thicker haze/clouds/smoke were south of me.
  9. Looking at the animation of this Sat pic you can see a lot of haze coming straight south from Canada as well. https://www.wunderground.com/maps/satellite/regional-visible/usshd
  10. So I walked outside as I was just looking out one window. It is fairly white to the South and east of here. Quite Blue to the West and North.
  11. I saw Mag's post but when I read your post I looked out the window here and did not see much so was surprised when you mentioned it.
  12. Euro deals out double digit qpf totals with a 36-48 hour stall
  13. Kind of reminds one what happened with the last storm down there. Models under doing strength in the mid range.
  14. Hopefully you did not injure yourself and become part of the walking wounded mantra of the group.
  15. If not for the overly wet spring some of us would be in a drought for the ages right now. I was told by a Hydrologist in Frederick that our drop in ground water levels from Jan 2019 to now is the largest drop in recorded history for this county in going from about 50 feet to 78 feet. Recorded history on this stuff is limited though as to how far back it goes.
  16. We really need some rain. So I do not hope damage on anyone but whatever it takes to get some rain up here. We are back to a double digit deficit since May 1 at -10.05". I do not think we have had any rain for the month so far.
  17. I saw that one coming. Canderson probably made it as well. LOL. We only got to 74 here. A little humid so not all that nice out. MDT topped at exactly 80.
  18. Yea, I had my exclusion clause for the two summer hot spots one being you :-).
  19. Are the 80's over (for all but Canderson and maybe Itstraining)?
  20. Very good. Maybe the best feel since Spring. We have made it to 70 so not 60's only for us here today.
  21. Sun is breaking out here. We are prone to clear out fast. Quite windy. About 15/25.
