Remnants of Chantal spinning south of NS on satellite. Seems like there should be more activity showing up by now but it's quiet out in the tropics even in the eastern Pacific.
Heat wave here with today being the hottest at 93.5.
If HRRR is right, nice cool down next couple of days. About 20 degree difference between here and the Hudson Valley. 89/79 now, although I'm not sure how much I'm trusting my Davis dews lately.
If you were looking SSW from York probably Portsmouth...between 9:15-9:45 or so. Actually may be the last time they have them here due to budget cuts. Would need a private donor to pay for it.
I brought my daughter down a couple years ago and we stopped in at Skaket Beach near low tide. I forgot how crazy it gets with the tide...just sand for like a mile into the bay. Should be back in August staying at a place on Pamet Harbor in Truro.
Nice. Family went there on vacation back in the late 80s/early 90s maybe? Lots on the water were selling for like $8K...my parents nearly picked one up while we were there. Oh well.
Got to 93F around mid-day...legit feel of summer. Now at 68/65. Looks like it'll take a miracle to avoid an indoor graduation ceremony tomorrow...sucks.
Black flies are the worst although we don't have a ton around here. I seem to be particularly allergic to their bite...it will itch for days. Scratching doesn't help since they leave that little hole in your skin as extra punishment. Actually looking forward to a little HHH...been a struggle to get the house warmed up with nights in the 40s lately. Made a nice recovery today...46-76.
Yesterday was actually pretty nice most of the time after some morning rains. Only managed .5" brining the month to 8.18". May temps ended about average here.
Felt like Nosferatu stepping out into full sun this morning. Up to 64 now. Hoping the periodic cold fronts return this summer to give us regular t-storm chances. Pretty blasé in that department recently.
I saw this pop-up and was wondering why. This is usually reserved for when it's actually warm and people underestimate the potential for cold water shock.
