  1. Snowing at State College...some stickage. https://www.statecollege.com/webcams/
  2. Places further N/Poconos may get some acc, we may be too far S besides some light stuff/flurries... 30F
  3. I'm a big fan of squalls when it's very cold. Partly cloudy turns to low clouds then all hell breaks loose. Wind/heavy snow blowing on streets and within 15-20 minutes 1-2" which wreaks havoc. Probably why NWS started the squall warning alert in 2019 which makes your phone make that disturbing sound when a squall is approaching.... 35F
  4. I'm probably in the minority but I would take 3 6" events rather than 1 18" event. It would feel like we had some sort of winter rather than a 1 and done... 33F/super sunny
  5. To go really retro (70s/early 80s tops)...I remember those "Fotomat" or "Kodak" booths they would place randomly/illogically in the middle of shopping center parking lots...looking back, how primitive and funny. 28F
  6. Yep. I think my parents have pictures from those 70s storms and 83' but who knows where they are? Ya know, the days where you had to take the film to Kmart and get developed. I guess eventually I'll sort through them... 31F
  7. I only have so many years left on this planet... 31F
  8. Yeah, my parents would take me there as a toddler way back in the day. I didn't ice skate just ran around like a nut seeing how far I could slide. I think someone did fall through and that was the end of that. Now they have 2 big geysers throwing water in the air so it won't freeze and in the summer it will keep water moving so it won't get all stagnant... 31F
  9. I remember seeing the 5 day with highs in the teens/low 20s all 5 days and it wasn't that rare. Such a pipe dream to think about it now... 41F/gusty
  10. I'm doubting if we have a day where the high is below freezing... 43F/gusty...not trash night.
  11. Lucky you, I had rainfall run off due to the 1-2' deep frozen ground...drought still pending. 44F/partly cloudy
  12. Yeah, I know what you mean. Watching the Birds and it's kinda the same at the Linc...definitely raw out. Down to 35F
  13. 37F and showers. Not snow showers, just showers...
  14. How does one know a cat has a tick unless you search him/her everyday? Sometimes I have one for a little while after tramping through the woods before I notice... 41F
  15. Winter just officially arrived 15min ago (10:58am)....think things will start looking up. 36F
  16. That sounds really cool compared to what's going on here which is boring/non eventful. I watch videos frequently on youtube w/people hiking/snowmobiling into the mountains to a remote cabin snowing like hell, chopping wood, ice fishing, sitting around a fire while camp cooking and enjoying some brews. Yeah, sure beats the hell out of SE PA. What did you miss? Read around, you'll see...
  17. Things to do this week: 1. Contact someone to change century old snowfall amounts 2. Merge with the NY subforum 3. Stock up on bottled water due to a impending drought 26F at 11:30pm...
  18. Who has that? SE PA is 5-6F above normal fo Dec so far, temps under 32F have been kinda rare...
  19. Our seasonal average will be dropping in the next decades so when many of us are the average will be 9.2"/yr..... Low clouds/misty 39F
  20. Yeah, instead of low-mid 40s on Eve/Christmas now looks like upper 40s to near 50F. Models will show a blow torch by Tues... Light rain/ 39F
  21. Thing is cold these days means in the 30s for a high. We would have to get the timing/moisture just right along w/temps or a night snow. Even w/night snow we have to be concerned w/the warm/above average ocean(coastal) blowing in. Can it happen, sure but I'm not holding out hope besides a couple nickel and dime stuff.
  22. C'mon, you have to understand sarcasm w/the way things have been going. I really don't see anything through 12/31. I'm really hoping for a little something in the 1st week of Jan then more chances as we move on but I've been though this song/dance before where the models keep pushing things back and before you know it...it's March! As far as Christmas eve/ Christmas, no snow but at least not a blow torch. Highs 40-45F both days, lows mid 20s to 30F. Just hope it isn't windy Christmas eve when I'll put out those illuminated candles by the curb. If so, the wind will either blow the candles out completely or catch the bag on fire... 54F
