  1. Heavy rain at CBP. Game in delay...hell, way heavier than I received here.
  2. Watching the Phils in Philly, winds coming through. Hot dog wrappers and such blowing all around...
  3. Some rain but temps dropped like a rock...75F.
  4. Nice winds, dark. Hope my tar dried in time... 88F
  5. Although I was feeling chilly, it wasn't needed. On my final hot tar layer for the day, low and behold, Mr Cosby came up the ladder and gave me a vintage 1970s Fat Albert quilt along with a cocktail which had a funny taste....maybe it was me? 96F / DP 71F
  6. I'm making up any/all sorts of BS stories to get some damn storms/downpours in our area. I'm hoping mother nature will want to ruin my roof tarring fun with storms, rain, downpours and wind... 86F / DP 70F Some storms out by State College...
  7. Outstanding! The full-face respirator is in good hands. Bought 2 in case I can't breathe too freely....I'll slap another one of those bad boys on for maximum protection. Also, most tar roofing forums (and there are millions) recommend to apply 3 layers w/the last layer when the sun is at peak angle. Finally. end your day w/a mix of hot apple cider (10%) and 100 proof Fire Water (90%) in a closed windowed vehicle sitting in the sun all day. Highly excited about all of this!!
  8. Of course. Don't be silly, consuming scolding coffee throughout the day is a must. Most likely I'll start heating the tar around 7am till I hit exactly 215F. In the meantime I'll make my speciality, ghost pepper and carolina reaper omelette after I take a hot shower while wearing all black clothing, heated gloves and a facemask. Really should be fun... 91F / DP 72F
  9. 95F / DP 72F Thinking about hot tarring my rooftop tomorrow for extra water protection, shouldn't be too bad. Fully expect Storms/Heavy rain Thursday into Friday...
  10. Still 80F at a little after midnight...DP 69F.
  11. My family (6 of us including myself) plus camping gear in the VW wagon went to the mountains sometime in the 70s. I don't think my Dad planned it out because on some of the hills we couldn't make it above 30mph....people passing us. Looking back, kinda funny. Thanks. I think he's happy w/people around and feeling ok for his age. He has his garden as well. Unlike me, he hates the winter. Probably because his bones start creaking. He turned 88 and doesn't look/act any different than 87 so I take this as a good sign.
  12. 11am newscast, digging Glenns forecast for the weekend (burbs)... Today-Wed ~ Blowtorch Thurs ~ Transition...possible storms Fri-Sun ~ Upper 70s...possible storms 88F / DP 75F
  13. Taking out trash, lightning bugs have definitely increased over the past week or so... 80F / DP 70F
  14. Yep, I noticed that as well. T-storms are/were kind of a reward to a shitty HHH day. Growing up playing sports (wiffle ball outside etc) it was clockwork...long hot/humid day T-storms usually roll in the late afternoon. Many times a couple rounds. Many overnight T-Storms as well. Now I can't buy one...
  15. Damn, I could go for a good T-storm... 82F / DP 71F
  16. 76F / DP 74F Cloudy It's soupy out but not horrible but if the sun breaks through it will be really uncomfortable...
  17. Thanks! My father is still "with it" but my mother (also 88) has dementia and doesn't know who I am (or anyone) . Sucked at first (2005) but nothing you can do and it doesn't phase me anymore. Simmons lack of shooting pisses me off moreso. He can do something about it where as my mother/older folks can't...
  18. And probably worth a shit- load of money restored. And my uncle (Father's brother) had the good old green VW beetle. Also worth a shitload of money restored...I honestly think he drove in that more tanked than sober. It was the 70s!!!!
  19. Back then, safety wasn't a priority and literally no one got hurt?? Just hungover memories. (I was too young) Half the shit people did back then would be considered such a crime now...strange. (No political stuff here) Visiting my Father tomorrow for his 88th B-Day...these are some pretty good memories to share w/him. I have a Dorney park memory he'll get a kick at as well...it involves a VW bright orange station wagon we had to push to pop the clutch/start to get home. It wasn't white trash but 70s...
  20. My dad (in the 1970s) would get explosives from "a guy at work" and our family would sit outside on the 4th blow them off. Dad (probably a bit loaded) would miss the lawn and land on the driveway. Next day he would wonder why the driveway/asphalt was cracked with blown out chunks. Then he would have to buy tar/asphalt filling to patch the holes/cracks because my mom was bitching at him.....lol, crazy shit in the 70s!
  21. M80s etc will always be "underground" stuff and illegal in my lifetime. In the late 80s I paid like $3/pc ($60 for 20pcs?) from "some guy" and yeah they could blow your hand off....
  22. Yep, got screwed. All the little sprinkles did now that the sun is out is raise the DP...
  23. Little rain here now but looks like the main stuff is to the west....close call.
  24. Pretty impressive blob of precip moving up which may actually affect my area. Much more radar activity today than I thought would be... 85F / DP 72F
