  1. These dews feel good. It hasn't even been that long nor is the humidity especially high but I’ve missed it. 0.01” so far today.
  2. What’s up with the pines in Central/Eastern Suffolk? I keep thinking I’m seeing fall foliage and it’s just sick/dying/dead pitch pines.
  3. High of 82. Currently you 78. Literally perfect.
  4. 1.08” so far today. 2.78” event total. Sky clearing out, I can finally see the moon.
  5. Just seen a double (possibly triple) strike CG in Holtsville (LIE exit 62) near Top Golf, very close strike as I could sort of see behind it while driving. Poured for a minute, now moderate rain with occasional CG’s.
  6. 1.38” current storm total. Winds have relaxed a bit so it feels mildly less terrible than it has felt for the last 4 days, sky brightening up at times but never fully clearing out. Currently 56 (and slowly rising) which is the high for the day.
  7. 0.10” and it feels like December (but with deep green foliage).
  8. 0.73” and counting. Most impressive pure thunderstorm event of the year so far for me.
  9. And that area floods almost as bad as the immediate south shore.
  10. Made it home with literally 40 seconds to spare. Absolutely pouring with CTG’s raining down.
  11. It’s good to see the NHC learned from Sandy by issuing Hurricane Warnings for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
  12. Front pushing in, it’s 68 here and 62 at a relative’s house <2 miles west.
  13. Very loud, Florida-like thunder with some of these lightning bolts. Only 0.23” but better than nothing.
  14. We recently had mid 90’s in October. Newark also hit 80 in February a few years back. Not the same circumstances, but I’ve come to never say never.
  15. Bottomed out at 50. That was a close one. Feels not so good outside rn.
  16. Tiny cell northeast of Bridgeport (and 25+ miles nw of me) illuminated by the setting sun. My iPhone didn’t do the colors much justice.
  17. 1.43” from this round. I’m shocked.
  18. 1.25” storm total, honestly much more than I expected. September so far is already close to my total for all of August.
  19. 0.69” so far. Under a band now w/ rates just under half an inch per hour.
  20. 0.41” which is better than nothing.
  21. Only 0.16” so far. I got lucky yesterday with 0.62” but with 4” per hour rates much of it ends up running off.
  22. Long Island is molting into Aruba.
  23. I got lucky with 0.62”, I very nearly got nothing. Steam bath now with dews in the deep 70’s and temps in the 80’s.
  24. Topped out at 88. Currently 76.
