Yeah, it started with a bang but I think it missed a crucial update during the shut down. I agree, Some decent cold showing up at the end of the month.
FV3 toyed with it and another for the 21-22 at 6z. So we have hints from the Euro, Fv3, GFS and the Canadian that something could be up around the 20/21 timeframe.
We shall see.
Having a hard time with that myself @shaggy. Had not heard the tip part. I have a buddy that flew those choppers with flir for the NCHP. They don't miss much if it's warmer than surrounding fauna. Remember, that's how they found the Boston marathon guy hiding in the boat under a cover.
Keep the faith man, there is some cold air incoming. I think before winter 2019 is over we get a suppressed coastal. Told my wife Monday that we would be snow chasing to the beach house in EI before it was al over.
Looking at the last two days of model runs. I am struck by the way we have a steady diet of very close near misses in the long range. No way that timing works out as modeled. If the runs were modeling major fantasy snow we would all be sure it would change as it gets closer and it would. We are going to get snowed on folks.
And...That's a young team. Trevor Lawrence is a sophomore and Justin Ross is a freshman. There will be Tiger paws on 95 all the way to the Ga line for a while.
Nah, it needs a string of 60/70's to germinate. Ground temp in the upper 50's. You can sod it though. It will be dormant but will start to grow when temps go up.
That's where my hat is hung. Really does look like things pick up after the 16th. We should be getting better hints in the next few days as Poiman pointed out this afternoon. A cold back end has a lot of promise.
You are right, Chris and I were talking about my proximity to Sharon Harris in this regard. I had recently read an article about the effects of nuclear plants around the country on the available moisture in the air. That cooling pool evaporates a ton of moisture . Hyco lake does the same thing for Roxboro. I also should have added in spite of my whiff this time I am very happy for you guys. There is something truly magic about Dec snow.
