  1. I was in front royal for both. 37" in 96 and 21" total from both parts of 03 (4" Friday night, 17" Saturday evening thru Sunday afternoon).
  2. That was the worst wind I think I've seen. Up most of the night because of it. What an absolute useless, annoying weather phenomenon.
  3. 1.5". Not sure the time, but I woke up during the night and it was snowing hard. Beautiful dendrites. Must not have done it for very long, but it was gorgeous when I turned on the outdoor lights.
  4. Only batted .250 in the storm department, but the best winter 'month' i can remember in a long time. Twice at 0 or below here and you could definitely ice skate on the area ponds.
  5. Solid snowpack for full 2 weeks. Much of the time, frozen to the point even I can walk in top of it. All from 1 storm. That really is quite anomalous and impressive. The great storms of 83, 93, 96, 03, 09, and 16 didn't last as long as this one 6" snow/ice.
  6. Lightly snowed for hours and hours. Interesting accumulation pattern. Perhaps an inch on the favored spots like patio furniture, less on bare hard surfaces. However, on top of the snow (ice) pack it might be 2". The ice pack was so cold, I guess, that every flake stuck, while all the other surfaces took longer to cave. Not sure how to record this one. Surprisingly still lightly snowing here.
  7. There are more pages in this thread than will be snowflakes west of the Blue Ridge. Maybe even IAD.
  8. Said this a couple days ago. I hope every low from now on goes straight up the OH valley. So sick of being fringed out by these coastals. Everyone of these has fringed us since 2016. Give me a WAA thump followed by light drizzle, dry slot, then cold front.
  9. My only comment is can we eek out 30:1 ratios in order to get a decent event out of this. I guess that is more of a question......
  10. I think its a bit of a myth. We 'won' last year, but lost biggly in 2017 and 2018 to the coast. For some reason, I cant remember what happened in 2019. I think everyone lost in 2020. We lose just as often as we win in the recent past. And getting tired of being fringed on all these coastals. I hope every low from now to the end of time runs right up the TN / OH Valley.
  11. I think he started a beer label, and then a band. Or something like that.
  12. I was in Front Royal then. We got 3" and the sun was shining by mid morning. Massive screw job.
