One of the heaviest bands of the night is about to reach me by the look on the radar.
-
After getting 4.5 inches on the ground here MRX has changed me over to a winter storm warning for up to 6 inches.
-
Future radar just lets go over the Knoxville area between 4:30 and 5.
-
Looks like Nashville itself is getting some heavy snow. Especially downtown and east towards BNA.
-
Great video! Looks like fatties are being ripped.
-
3.5 inches down here and just rolling down still. I'm going to officially apologize to the HRRR from my earlier post because it missed my change over time by 30 minutes.

Rocking quarters and 32 degrees. Gif uploading.
-
ZFP updated but no winter storm warning. Rest Of Tonight Snow likely and a chance of rain after midnight, then snow after midnight. New snow accumulation up to 4 inches. Total snow accumulation up to 5 inches. Lows around 30. Light winds. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
-
Evergreens grown well in places that get snow in feet. So I hope yours make it!
-
Still a good bit to go. My future cast shows snow til 7am.
-
You can drop a bus on them and they'll bounce back. I had some go flat when I had 3 inches of freezing rain around Christmas 1998 and the still bounced right back.
-
I-75 in Campbell County. Not driving. Got it from a friend who was caught out.
-
Point and click is computer generated. The ZFP is written by Mets.
-
Looks like they updated the ZFP for Knox and it says up to 2 inches now.
-
Nashville looks like they might get blasted if the ptype radar is right out there. Just NW of the city appears to be getting the mighty hammer.
-
2 inches down. Extremely wet and compacting snow. Probably 8:1ish. If only it were 29 I'd say this would be a legit 6-8 inch event.
-
Hopefully that can change to snow around the mid state and give them a surprise event.
-
That lasted about 15-20 minutes for me before it went full snow.
-
Another round of heavy snow looks to be just to my south west about 5 minutes out.
-
I recommend getting a motion LED light. They have ultra flake detection.
-
I think you probably have 3 or 4 hours to go. Maybe more.
-
The interstate is a disaster here. Likely 4 wheelers out there doing donuts. One just sped by my house.
-
Lots of them in the air but flake size is dime and penny now. Heavy returns all the way to Clarksville at this point though. Hopefully every bit of it manages to swing through our back yards.
-
Back down to nickel sized flakes here. Hopefully that big slug of moisture to the sw keeps me in the money all night.
