  1. No. Colder is always better for sticking snow. For some reason snow just wasn't getting to the ground in areas to the East. Most likely some dry air pulled over the mountains.
  2. Pretty widespread reports here of 9-10 1/2 inches. Elevation didn't even play a big role. Some of the 10 inch reports are from 1100 feet or so.
  3. It's crazy, apparently there were areas where the radar looked great but had very little snow falling. Uncle Nasty said it happened to him for a while in Nooga.
  4. Looks like I'm gonna end at 10.6 inches. I don't think the light snow falling will add much of anything else. That gets me to 31.6 inches this season.
  5. Looks Iike a lot of the counties around Knox have 5-6 inches per reports I'm seeing. Very sold event for the entire 40 corridor from Memphis to Knoxville. Rare any time to get virtually the whole state.
  6. Crazy how it was small flakes all night and now it's back to big flakes this morning.
  7. Don't have anything like Holston to be able to see it but it's coming down pretty hard here.
  8. Snow is picking back up pretty good under the band working over the Plateau now. Back to nickel and quarter sized flakes and 1/2 mile visibility.
  9. Snowing still but for the first time in around 7 hours, its light snow. Still waiting on the final band before I sleep a couple hours.
  10. Wild to watch that back band on the radar. In an hour or so it grew rapidly from near the Kentucky border to stretch all the way down to Northern Alabama now. Should get the whole eastern valley as it moves east over the next hour or so.
  11. Don't know if there's a break and that back band is coming or if it's getting cold and the DGZ is dropping to the point the radar beams are too high to see snow over the western Plateau. Either way, based on past bands tonight coming from there and looking like that, its 1.5 to 2 inch per hour rates in the darker blue that distance from radar.
  12. Flake size has actually went up to quarters with this very heavy band. It should get you guys East of here soon.
  13. Really coming down on the LaFollette cam right now. That road was plowed about 15 minutes ago. https://www.resortcams.com/webcams/downtown-lafollette-tn/
  14. Maybe the heaviest snow of the system out there right now. It's a fog of snow with probably 1/8th mile visibility.
  15. Tys is reporting 1/4th mile visibility right now. Hopefully that area is racking up.
  16. Can't tell for sure but it looks like the back side was starting to tilt a little bit.
  17. This band looks roughly a County wide or a little wider now. And it looks like there are maybe 2 more back into Middle Tennessee.
  18. Honestly, 3 inches in roughly 3 hours is pretty good. I'd guess you get another 1 to 2.
  19. Business has indeed picked back up here. 1.5 per hour rate I'd guess right now. Nickel sized flakes and a whole lot of them.
  20. Heavy band is just about to me and Holston again. Hopefully it heads back to 2+ inch per hour rates.
  21. It's 23 degrees. I'd guess the ratio is heading towards 13-15:1.
  22. There's a very heavy band just to our west working this way.
