    Another heavy shower just blew through. They last 5 to 10 minutes but it just pours quarter or bigger wet flakes and the wind gets up to 20 or 30mph.

    I've had several dustings today. Very intense snow showers at times. Not common for an afternoon in April to say the least, but it happens every few years.

    Intense bands are working through again now. Getting some quarter plus sized flakes coming down pretty hard. This band is the one bringing it.

    Another round of hard snow rolling through. Looks like it's going to last 5 or 10 minutes.

    They are like pop up storms. The wind kicks up and it rips for a few minutes over a smallish area.

    More snow showers in the last hour. Coated vehicles with the last one. I don't expect ground accumulation here unless the precip gets much more organized.

    Yeah. I don't expect freezing rain. Maybe they mean freezing drizzle from low level moisture that doesn't reach the DGZ. Also, coming a nice snow shower right now. Temp is 34.

    Just had a heavy snow shower with strong wind. Temps went down another 4 degrees in it. Very convective it seems.

    Very cold upper levels, anyone who gets a good burst of precip will probably see frozen reaching the surface like Uncle Nasty in Hamilton and Bearman in Anderson County.

    Looks like a particularly cold pool of air over Cumberland, Fentress and NW Morgan Counties. Mid 30s there. 40 here when the shower rolled across. MRX now says 1/2 inch or snow here tonight and freezing rain tomorrow morning per the point forecast. I don't remember freezing rain in April before right off.

    A mix shower just rolled over here. Temperatures dropped 7 degrees when it hit.

    Lots of lightning and thunder, along with heavy rain. Not much wind or any hail or anything here.

    I've been waiting on dry weather for 5 years. Once that 2016 drought broke its been incredibly rare to have any extended dry weather here. I think we had one dry month a few years ago from mid September into October. The water table is basically as full as it can possibly be over this way.

    Made it down to 27 this morning. Well under the forecast low. Had a frost advisory but our last frost isn't normally until around April 30th and may frost isn't uncommon. So probably early to have issued them here.

    Modeling suggests we aren't done with snow yet. They insist on snow showers and even accumulations along the Plateau, SEKy, SWVA and the Eastern Mountains as we head into next weekend. The GFS has been on this for about 8 days now.

    Incredible winds here last night. Schools had to close due to downed trees blocking so many roads. Just before it started raining the wind got up towards 80+ and it was an extended gust that lasted several minutes. I hadn't heard anything like that since we got a massive downburst back in the 1990s. A friend who moved here from Florida said "if you've never been in a hurricane, that was what it feels like."

    Winds are reaching insane levels for here. I just gusted to 70+mph. There are limbs flying everywhere and just raining down on my roof.

    I have almost as many limbs down as I did from the endless freezing fog last year. Amazingly, the screen blew out of my porch today. It tore loose. Never seen that happen.

    Hovered around 35 this morning before the warm front finally made it through. It quickly shot up to 68. The winds have begun in earnest now as well. Probably steady at 25 with 50mph gusts.

    Had some sleet and snow mixed overnight that dusted car tops but melted pretty quickly. Extremely windy today.

    My grandpa and great uncle always said the same thing about the corn getting bent over. They went rabbit hunting that morning.

    This is from April 16th 2018, the year of winter in spring here. Accumulating snow fell on March 7th, 12th, 21st and then April 16th.
