I remember closing down one of the Fordham bars during a heatwave back during my student days in the 80's. Staggering through the mean streets of The Bronx at 3:00am with temps in the low 80's. It was nuts. That's the only thing I remember from that night. lol

Driving from Maine to Mattapoisett yesterday afternoon.....was 93 when I left Waterville. 100-103 from the Mass line to 195 where it quickly dipped to 94. Got to Mattapoisett at about 5:30 and it was 87. Today will be worse. West wind is no bueno.

I'll be headed to Mattapoisett tomorrow night....hoping the water will mitigate the temp. Any wind direction that does not includes a north component is coming from the water, so that'll help. Running (ha) a race there on Saturday, too. Meanwhile, it was really cool at Pit2 yesterday, at least in the later afternoon/evening. Temp was in the 70's as I drove from Waterville toward Gardner and it was all of 72* when I pulled into the house here.

We've been fine with rain up at Pit2. I'm really hoping to get some here on the south coast though........the "lawn" at the new Pit is a disaster. The scourge of the neighborhood. lol

Managed a greatfirst half of Sunday. After a 38* start it was nice and sunny until 1:00. overcast and 59* now. Maybe we can manage a good weekend next week.

Mi casa was not part of the 'most' category. I haven't watched the whole thing, but I'm located about 100 yards from the scenes from minutes 17:00 - 20:00. Hurricane Bob drove a surge of 10 to 15 feet into Buzzards Bay. The Buzzards Bay shore east to Cape Cod was hardest hit. The highest surges, of 12 to 15 feet, were observed in Onset, Bourne, Mashpee and Wareham, at the head of Buzzard's Bay. Cove Road, in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts had 29 of 37 homes destroyed, while Angelica Point, Massachusetts lost 32 of 35 homes along the shore. Boat damage was significant, as many boats were torn from their moorings.
