    You might want to throw Saturday in the "doesn't look good" category too. Welcome to the season when we can predict crappy weather a week out......would that we could do so in the cold season--we'd all sleep better.

    Was in Waltham and Brookline yesterday......car registered 88 and 99 in the two locations. Meanwhile we hit 71* at the new Pit1 in Mattapoisett. I'll take it.

    Only made it to 64 here on the water in Mattapoisett with a stiff breeze. Felt great. Today will be warmer.

    Did my second mowing at Pit2 lastnight and discovered the lawn really looks crappy. It had always been pretty darn good looking, so I'm not sure what happened to it over the last 6 months. Biggest problem is there's suddenly a bunch of dandelions. A secondary concern is other types of things (not crabgrass) that' appearing. What do you recommend for getting rid of at least the dandelions? I cold probably put down some seed as well. I need to do things in the right order. Help!

    Area stations here at the new Pit1 are less than .25. It was still a cold and miserable day--typical spring day on the coast. I really wish I were at a point when I could be worrying about the TOTAL DISASTER which is the lawn here.

    Agree on both. WRT magnitude, I believe that south coast percentage is skewed low.

    Was really surprised to wind up with the snow this morning--about 4" or so. Surprise for many given the number of cars off the turnpike.

    No idea what we got in Bath. It was snowing for several hours....with the wind, it was blowing off the back yard (we back up to the river so no snow blows onto the yard). All the snow was deposited on my front porch which had about 8" on it. Decided to take a drive--the roads were really pretty bad. We definitely got more than I expected and more than what I thought had actually come down.

    It would really be a shame if they don't get 3' on the event. Actually--if that's on the ground, is there an eventtotal for them I figure there must be some compacting of today's snow in there.

    I said I could see no mechanism that would cause it to come further north. I should have just accepted it an hope for later this week--which is looking pretty meh.
