I think one of the most common posts on our site is … “The next 24 hours will be really important in determining … [fill in the blank].” That same statement is made whether we are ten days away from the fever-dream storm, five days away from a possible storm, or 1 day away from an impending storm. This makes me wonder which 24-hour is not really important because that’s the one in which we can all take a breather and not live and die by each model run. Please let me know when we have determined which 24-hour period that is. Until then, I will be waiting anxiously on the next run of the … [fill in the blank] … model.

Yep, we finished with 2 inches as well. I just went out to measure again on the table. That was pretty cool how long it kept snowing even with nothing showing up on the standard radar beam.

Yep, I’m staying up for that. Everyone else in my household has gone to bed, but I saw that on radar and knew I needed to wait a bit.

It’s exactly like a 1980s storm in the lee of the Apps, growing up in Lenoir. Many fond memories of those storms.

Me too. Back in the game! 1 inch of snow, 1/2 inch of sleet, a glaze of ice, and now a little snow topper!

I don’t know that I’ve witnessed freezing drizzle at this low temperature before. It’s making everything crunchy. Instantly freezing on contact. No runoff.

Well, I checked it out and put it in motion, but that appears to be heading more southeast rather than northeast.

Solid sleet. Got a few flakes mixed in, but it looks about over. Way underperformed here, but it was nice to watch fall all afternoon. Ended up with an inch of snow and some sleet on top.

The back end is right at my doorstep. This ended way earlier than originally thought. I was expecting precipitation until midnight. Not gonna happen.

Just went out for a walk with the family. We have about an inch as well. All snow still. Hoping that sleet stays south of us.

Still all snow. Approaching a full inch of snow after almost six hours of precipitation. It's been fun to walk in and watch fall, though. I've missed this.

Just can't seem to get the bigger flakes to stick around for very long. It's been snowing for about 3 hours now, the temperature has been sub-32 the entire time, the ground and road surfaces have been cold for days, and... I have somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch of snow.

29.5/25 and 82% humidity. The temp had risen to 34 briefly, but quickly dove back under freezing. This is amazing, as we don’t normally get snow to fall during an entire below-freezing event.

Just got back from a 20-minute walk. Instantly sticking on impact. I love that we aren’t losing any moisture to reduce the air temperature. Steady light-to-moderate snow and nothing showing up on radar overhead. Can’t wait until we get to the stuff that actually does show up on radar. Deck’s already covered, as are all the grassy and leafy areas. The roads have yet to give way, yet.
