  1. For sure, not liking the look for heavy rain in the Middle TN area, heck, for that matter, essentially region wide.
  2. In reality, I know where I am, North of Nashville, it really only takes one or two big snows to make it a memorable winter, we may yet pull something out before it is over - I am honestly more concerned about the rainfall potential over the next 10 - 14 days.
  3. The overnight run of the CFS was crazy lol that would be a historic run if that occurred fun to look at!
  4. I like it but from what I hear here, it has no basis in reality lol
  5. Give you an example of how wet it is, today I dug a twenty foot ditch from a low area in the yard to the creek; when I came back to it after a couple of hours later, it was filled with water.
  6. Almost, we are about a mile from the Higland Rim; makes a huge difference this time of year, often, that 700' - 800' makes the difference between snow and rain. I have too many trees to keep an accurate rain gauge any longer but I am guesstimating from the NWS "water" page, that we had between 70" - 75" last year. I believe it was I-24 but same thing though. Just flat too much rain.
  7. I know Nashville Just finished one of the wettest years on record; around here, just down the road from me, literally, there is the start of a rock slide, will call it in to the road department in the am but I would imagine that there would be more of that to come.
  8. Honestly though, most of my childhood memories of growing up in Nashville were with Winters where it rained and rained and rained; there were those Winters in the late 1970's that were good one or two in the 1980's but after that, man, seems like it is just always warm and wet!
  9. Something has to get this pattern out of here, like everyone, I would like to see some snow but starting to really get concerned regarding the amount of rainfall being modeled for the area over the next few weeks.
  10. The wetness seems to be the common thread through out all of this. Things are still running high here north of Nashville, we need a good 30 days of dry cold weather but I do not see any of that on the horizon.
  11. So what you are saying is that your crystal ball is in the shop?
  12. So, once the AMO flips, is it conventional wisdom that the East in general can expect actual winter to make an appearance for several consecutive season's?
  13. I don't see the Atlantic helping that much or enough in time have a meaningful impact. Does anyone have data to suggest otherwise?
  14. I here what saying but just so insane that we are here yet again. Third consecutive year. We get to mid January and the long range still looks like this then yea, sorry but realistically winter is mia yet again
  15. All sounds good but seems like with every model run there are models that contradict one another. For example, the 06Z GFS has nashville area back up to 63 01/12/2020, I already have things budding out and or coming up thinking it is Spring!
  16. If I were the NWS I would be getting nervous right about now about that slug of yellow and orange moving in from the southwest, all of that will run off rapidly.
  17. I work off Harding but live in Cottontown; Mill Creek takes most all of the run off from everything down there, not too surprising to her that it is in flood
  18. It is like they have a certain number of warnings that can be issued they are afraid to use them. I know here, even though we went several days since the last rain, everything was running off this morning. We need a serious pattern change!!!
  19. Yea, I am not sure what is going on with them today but we are honestly floating away here in Sumner county, not sure why it takes them so long to react to current weather conditions.
  20. So it is representative of the possible long range pattern not necessarily specific events
  21. Looks like there will be something to track - anyone know how reliable the CFS is - it is showing few overnights south of zero near mid month
