Anyone ever play the south course of Stow Acres? Playing it this Saturday. What am I in for?

What's everyone's favorite weather to golf in? I think mine is 60-65 F, overcast and a light mist. You might think me crazy, but I enjoy it for the combination of comfort (not too hot or cold and really not wet) and open golf course. If you find a course where the greens fees are good for the day you can get 36 or 54 in on these type of days. I love it.

Playing Windham Country Club (Windham, NH) tomorrow. Shot 80 there last year when I played it first time. Hoping for about the same. Really wish this game wasn't so expensive. Perhaps an annual membership somewhere would make it worth it.

Decent. Because of the dry stretch they haven't been allowed to draw as much from the Nashua River as usually. The fairways and greens are great though.

Played yesterday afternoon at Overlook in Hollis, NH. Drove the 300 yd par 4 second and made the 15 ft putt for eagle. Finished with a 77.

Shot 84 yesterday. Spent the first 14 holes hitting it all over the place and consistently like 1/4" thin. Finished birdie, par, par, par. Though. So that was nice.

Water levels way down compared to even just a week ago. One of the development puddles I've been fishing is shrinking fast.

Finally have my first two tee times of the year. Thursday at Overlook in Hollis, NH and Saturday at DW in Brockton, MA. Gonna have to find a driving range before Thursday. I'll take anything under 85 on Thursday and 80 on Saturday.

This sounds counter intuitive, but aim right of your target.

You can hit it way left and as far you want straight. Not too bad. Just can't go right (which of course is most right handed players problem).

Got out to Mill Pond in Nashua a couple times. Pond isn't very deep and it's infested with milfoil so the grass is already on the surface in spots. There is a canal system off of it and I found a few fish starting to think about bedding in the canal system. I say "starting to think" about it as the beds were not well defined. Got a few nice ones though:

Got out again last Saturday when the sun came out. Caught a decent size pickerel. Like 15" or so. Was night to feel a half decent size fish again.

Got out to a couple small development type ponds yesterday. Caught two of the tiniest large mouths I've ever seen. Like 8" long. Boy the water was cold though. Makes sense given the spring we've had. Imagine it's going to be a slow start to the year.

I am driving my wife crazy because all I've been doing is chipping plastic balls in the house. lol.

Bought my fishing license for first time in 12 years. College and first half dozen years of professional life got in the way. Excited to get back out there. Scouted some local spots around town last Sunday. May try tomorrow afternoon after it warms up some.

Love it. Kiss this sorry excuse for Winter goodbye and move on to golf season. We keep this pattern up, maybe the course will be open in March down south. Hoping to get out a couple more times this year than last (~10). Hoping to keep my strides with the putter going from last year. Would really like to get to a 2 handicap. Not that I have one officially, but probably around a 6. A new set of sticks (mine are now 7 years old) and playing more often should do it. On the topic of equipment, I was at the local golf store towards the end of last season. I was complaining to the guy that I hit the ball too high and I'm losing distance. He stuck me in one of those TrackMan machines. My spin rate was absurd, like 8,000 rpms with my 7-iron (tour average is ~6,500). Guy handed me a 2019 7-iron and my rpms dropped to 6,800. The new technology is insane. Now what to do to convince the wife a new set of sticks is ok. lol

If this mega band could start to pivot around to NW-SE then I might make a run at 2'.
