  1. Got out to a couple small development type ponds yesterday. Caught two of the tiniest large mouths I've ever seen. Like 8" long. Boy the water was cold though. Makes sense given the spring we've had. Imagine it's going to be a slow start to the year.
  2. I am driving my wife crazy because all I've been doing is chipping plastic balls in the house. lol.
  3. Bought my fishing license for first time in 12 years. College and first half dozen years of professional life got in the way. Excited to get back out there. Scouted some local spots around town last Sunday. May try tomorrow afternoon after it warms up some.
  4. With snow officially gone, a free weekend and no sports to watch, I'm all in on cleaning up from winter tomorrow. Should be a little chilly, but will be good to be out working in the yard. Hoping to clear the yard and get early spring fertilizer down this weekend.
  5. Love it. Kiss this sorry excuse for Winter goodbye and move on to golf season. We keep this pattern up, maybe the course will be open in March down south. Hoping to get out a couple more times this year than last (~10). Hoping to keep my strides with the putter going from last year. Would really like to get to a 2 handicap. Not that I have one officially, but probably around a 6. A new set of sticks (mine are now 7 years old) and playing more often should do it. On the topic of equipment, I was at the local golf store towards the end of last season. I was complaining to the guy that I hit the ball too high and I'm losing distance. He stuck me in one of those TrackMan machines. My spin rate was absurd, like 8,000 rpms with my 7-iron (tour average is ~6,500). Guy handed me a 2019 7-iron and my rpms dropped to 6,800. The new technology is insane. Now what to do to convince the wife a new set of sticks is ok. lol
  6. 12/9/05 (Brockton) - stinger CCB with vivid lightning 1/27-28/13 (Nashua) - 33" (personal best) Blizzard of 2005 (Brockton) - week off from school October Snow 2011 (Lowell) - off campus apartment didn't lose power, but my former dorm did and my buddies gave me all their beer (Guessing on the date) 7/6/1999 Hail Storm (Brockton) - hit while I was pitching in an all-star baseball tournament as storm hit
  7. If this mega band could start to pivot around to NW-SE then I might make a run at 2'.
  8. Finally got into some good dendrites the last hour. First 6 hours were crappy crystals.
  9. LOL at this storm. Two mega bands died on my doorstep and now the next one forms on my back porch. Can't win.
  10. If our storm center wanted to magically start gaining some latitude that'd be great.
  11. That metro west band dissolved faster than a thunderstorm crossing 495 in the summer.
  12. Metro west band is dissolving. It was slo close I could reach out and touch it. Oh well.
  13. My sleepy brain when I woke up was like "Damn, screw zoned".
  14. When I woke up I was backpeddling......but now that that band is moving nw I think I have to stick with it. (If we end up as the Pivot then look out)
  15. That first mega band seems to be on the move. Shift NW pretty quickly. Actually kinda not really a band anymore. Just filled in and moving NW. First inch of snow was pretty heavy here. Winds are gusting good too. Stronger than I thought.
  16. Dec 9th 2005 takes the cake for me as my favorite storm. I left Brockton high at 2 pm that day. It was raining when I walked out of the building. By the time I got to my bus a minute later it was sleeting. By the time we left the parking lot 5 mins later snow was mixing in. Three mins after leaving parking lot it was a whiteout. Got off the bus at around 220 and had to walk in the middle of the road to try to get home. The walk home was the craziest thing I have ever seen. We couldn't see cars coming at us that were 15 feet in front of us. The best part was all the cloud to ground lightning that was striking around us. This went on for about an hour and I probably picked up a good 4 inches in that hour. My favorite winter memory here and it is going to take something insane to top it.
  17. Everything is rotating!! This is insane and out of control.....everyones thoughts and prayers have to go out to all those affected by this incredible last couple of days.
  18. I think central Mississippi tomorrow will be the place to be. With storms rolling into Alabama towards sundown.
  19. I feel like southern Arkansas will be under the gun tomorrow. I like the Clarke, Dallas, Nevada, and Ouachita county section of the state.......but overall the next two days should be incredible from a meteorological standpoint.
