  1. Euro has 4 inches of rain along the escarpment next 10 days.. Luckily the next 5 days are fairly dry before the deluge sets in..
  2. Won't be long until the "maybe a bowling ball ULL in Late Feb or March will save us" or the 1960 redux! And definitely the "well it was a very mild winter before the blizzard of 1993 too".
  3. More than 2 years here. It's been generally wetter than normal here since 2013. I saw mosquitoes the other evening. It has only been below 20 degrees once and that was in November.
  4. We have only had 2 or 3 months of really dry in the past 4 or 5 years here. It's ridiculous.
  5. Not that impressive this weekend maybe an inch or 2 in favored areas on the border. Next week could be a bit better for upslope areas but doesn't look that great right now. If it doesn't turn around in late Jan or Feb this winter may turn out to be one of the all time least snowy. Even places like Beech and Mt Mitchell have barely seen half a foot all season.
  6. The past few weeks have been more like Seattle than Western NC.. We are over 5 inches here in the past month and it looks to be very soggy in the next 2 weeks..
  7. GFS and Euro look way different even later this week. Euro has 2 to 4 inches of rain and GFS much less. Then the GFS tries to develop a southern wave on the next front giving a decent snow chance next week. Euro has a low cutting up the Ohio Valley with showers/storms and turning a bit colder behind it.
  8. I just want to see some legit winter weather for a couple weeks, with at least 1 or 2 miller A's. Is that too much to ask?
  9. I got some new chest waders for trout fishing but looks like the water levels will be high after the new few weeks. About all the models have 3 to 5 inches of rain the next 10 days and it's already wet...
  10. High elevations may see snow this weekend if the EURO is correct. It has heavy precip here with a nice low track. Too bad there isn't more cold air around or it could be a big one.
  11. https://nchighpeaks.org/davis/ 5.4 up there atm
  12. A lot of mets agree with your forecast from what I have seen. Good job.
  13. Pretty unimpressive in Asheville. It rained pretty hard but the wind was minimal.
  14. Line was unimpressive here in Asheville. Hardly any wind
  15. Euro looks really cold next weekend especially for NC. Widespread 20s
  16. The next drought monitor should look much better. Water table is healthy again in the Blue Ridge after 2.61 so far in Pleasant Gardens and over 6 inches for the month.
  17. I grew up in McDowell County just outside Marion then moved to Virginia Beach for college, then Maryland for a while, then Front Royal, VA for a few summers, then back to Marion. Then to the eastern shore of Maryland near Easton, then to Danville for almost 4 years then Waldorf, MD finally just moved back to Western NC. You just can't beat the weather, cheap housing (generally) and mountains.
  18. Lots of tornado warnings currently and a debris ball showing up on the storm near Wilson..
  19. Just moved back to the area guys. Been gone for years but look forward to being back and tracking winter storms with you all!
  20. Euro is starting to show Dorian as a stronger system and making it into the Gulf...
  21. Man.. the tropics are really dead, and appear to be that way for the next 10 days at least according to models. Going to take a big finish to be above average.
  22. Euro also has a tropical system impact the Mississippi valley heading slowly northeast at day 10.
  23. Heavy rain Monday according to Euro, especially in the Blue Ridge escarpment areas.
  24. The EURO has been consistently hinting at a heavy rain setup in Western NC- especially the escarpment for Sunday/Monday.
