  1. Definitely less amped than last run and closer to track of the Euro, still a bit further north, more sleet showing this run near @Buddy1987 and along the escarpment
  2. NAM barely gets it above freezing Wednesday in the mountains
  3. If this wave continues to trend flatter and the confluence trends stronger/slower watch out
  4. The Euro and other models are close to doing this as well. Something to watch
  5. The NAM has a miller b and the Euro keeps it miller a
  6. The NAMs low track differs wildly from the Euro
  7. One reason this Euro run is better is it keeps the low track further south
  8. Even the snow line is pushing closer and closer to western NC
  9. This run is definitely a bit colder and more icy for NC.
  10. The temperature at Asheville at 00Z Thursday is 35 and dewpoint is 21..
  11. I've noticed the last few euro runs have each trended a bit cooler and drier for NC before the Thursday storm. Think this run may be more icy than last
  12. Usually it's a cold rain here too since the early 2000s cads just don't produce anymore
  13. Lol no, that would mean you get 240 inches of rain per year. We have had close to 100 inches the past 2 years in a row and since 2013 we have been above 80 pretty much every year like clockwork. And we get about 3x as many CAD/fog events where you are sunny and warmer.
  14. McDowell County beats both counties with as many cad wedges we get each year.
  15. The Euro even gives DC and mid Atlantic a nice front end thump of snow before changing over.
  16. Could definitely see severe with this setup @buckeyefan1. I think a nasty squall line will develop in scream across the upstate and southern piedmont.
  17. Yep I've driven that section many times and it's an ice storms paradise
  18. Serious ice storm above 3k feet along the Blue Ridge escarpment
  19. I'm just hopeful for some sun Tuesday and Wednesday. Next weekend looks pretty good! We are at 1.3 since Thursday, thinking we get 3 or 4 before this wet spell ends
  20. 34 here and off and on rain, nothing heavy though
  21. Drove up to Spruce Pine, pea soup up here but my car thermometer never dipped below 33.
