Got down to 21 last night with a massive frost, even coating the trees. I am intrigued by the Thursday night system. If it can dig another 75 miles even the northern foothills have a shot at some frozen.
So who was the big winners? Fredericksburg, Bowling Green over to Waldorf looked to do well. I wonder how Easton and Cambridge did on the eastern shore.
Went on a drive. Strange accumulations with this storm. Little Switzerland and Spruce Pine had an inch or 2 but South Toe area and Busick in Yancey had almost nothing. One area near Woodlawn had an inch and a few miles later had a dusting or nothing. Not exactly elevation dependant either.
Upper level lows never pan out here no matter how strong they are in my memory.. Both places I lived the past 10 years arw getting crushed today. Danville and Waldorf both have reported thundersnow. Only time I have seen it was during the blizzard of 93 when I was 5.
It does but it has to be a true miller A gulf powerhouse. So close yet so far away for us. Snowless winter still possible, long range doesn't give me much hope.
