  1. This winter serms doomed. Reminds me a lot of 2011-2012 which was another moderate Nina
  2. Obviously this is a highly unlikely scenario with the Euro and CMC. However, if we were to ever get a storm like that, this would be the scenario. A massive upper low and associated coastal crawling up the coast throwing tons of moisture off the Atlantic and Gulf piling up against the Blue Ridge and Apps. It's basically what happened in January 2016 and December 2018. Most of our areas 2 biggest storms the past 10 years.
  3. This might be the most insane clown map I have ever seen for this area in my 25+ years of following models.
  4. Webb is incredibly negative lately. Didn't know he moved.
  5. EPS is as solid as can be at this range.. 1/22/2016 storm looking analogous..
  6. It basically stalls off the coast and somewhere in WNC is gonna get 2 feet verbatim..
  7. This is a weenie run for WNC. Gonna be some crazy clown maps
  8. Wake up everyone, we may actually have something to track for the first time in a long time!
  9. Euro looks pretty north so far compared to last night
  10. Odd solution from the euro but it gives much of NC snow
  11. After going below freezing for over a week, we are now on 4 nights in a row of above freezing temps for mby. It was an astonishing 60 degrees at 8 a.m. on Old Fort mountain.
  12. Wish I could say I'm surprised the models have backtracked on cold but that seems to be the theme this year (other than the 3 day cold outbreak) The Pacific is still raging. California is getting pounded by storm after storm. We (foothills of NC) haven't had a decent snow in February since 2015. It just doesn't happen much anymore.
  13. I mean we don't need extreme cold to get snow. One does not equal the other as we all saw last week.
  14. January looks like our typical winter pattern. Warm up-rain-cold front comes through and it cools back down-then it warms up and rains again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
  15. It's gonna get soggy the next few weeks. Flooding could become an issue
  16. It was 7 at the house again. Coldest stretch in December I can rememeber
  17. It's already 11 at the house before midnight. Much colder than expected tonight.
  18. Not many are talking about it but flurries and light snow is possible in the smokies and SW NC and possibly N GA and the upstate tomorrow evening/night. Some places near could get a dusting to an inch.
