  1. About 1.75” here. Drove down to RUT today. Saw my first car off the road on Mendon Mt. on the Rutland side. Looked like it had NC plates. Decided to come back up Rt.7 to BTV thinking it would get better. It did but not until Middlebury. The ride back down 89 was ok, slushy but ok. Looks like it’s coming down harder now.
  2. I wonder why I don’t get NWS alerts on my phone? I checked the settings and that is turned on.
  3. They are looking for you over on HCS. They need you to provide them with some hope!
  4. I had a 100lb Lab mix and after the storm I let her out and she jumped off the deck stairs and disappeared into the snow like she had jumped into a pond.
  5. I’d thank you kindly not to be speaking bad about V-Day 2007. That was the biggest snowstorm I’ve seen.
  6. Now you’ve done it. You mentioned retrograde. Tamarack and Dryslot just tossed their Tandy’s out the window in a fit of rage.
  7. I think 81-82 was a crusher here too. It seemed like there would be 1 or 2 3"6" type systems every week and then every 10 days or so an 8"-12" would come along. The people we were renting our house from had moved up full time in the nearly snowless winter of 1980-81 and were shell shocked at the amount of snow we got.
  8. Congrats! On both. Hope your dad recovers well and your marriage brings you happiness.

  10. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Actually, I couldn’t have said that at all. Great explanation and it sounds reasonable too! All I know is that I have traveled the entire state, for work and play and this area is usually among the snowiest. Like you said though, you are usually a little farther from stuff. Having said that, there are things in the area. Hill Farmstead, Parker Pie in Greensboro/Glover. Catamount Arts is close in St.J. Morrisville is a surprisingly good little town that’s accessible. Plenty of people commute to Montpelier. It’s not really the NEK but it’s close. Overall, it’s one of my favorite parts of the state.
  11. Yep. I even get tickled by that finger of darker gold in central VT.
  12. Yes, that’s the one I snipped from. I’ve just never figured out how to bookmark it on my iPhone.
  13. Bring him along. Tell him it’s a surprise party.
  14. @ORH_wxmanhas posted the link a few times. I have it on my laptop and I’m on my phone now. If he doesn’t post it I will when I log in to it tomorrow.
  15. Walden and Danville are really great for snow. Morrisville to Hardwick is decent for snow but I never considered it all that special until you climbed towards Walden. Do you remember the Coles' Pond Weather Cam? Coles Pond is in Walden at 2200'. The snow they get up there is spectacular. Great area to ride snowmobiles. Joe's Pond in Danville is lower elevation but still really nice and gets good snow. I don't have the savvy of PF to be able to explain why but I do know the area pretty well. I have friend's who have a camp on the eastern side of Rt.15 between Hardwick and Wolcott at about 1500' and I spend a fair amount of time there in the fall. Here is the elevation map of the area
  16. Ha! And @Damage In Tollandsaid we wouldn’t have any snow left!
  17. Seeing the pictures out of KY really puts my whining about the lack of snow in perspective. I know it’s apples to oranges but I’d rather deal with our crappy weather than that.
  18. @J.Spin I thought of you while watching that Bolton Valley show. They devoted a fair bit to the back country part.
