  1. They are going through it in Burlington right now and my town is doing a reappraisal now as well. As for the police and fire departments, because of the nature of most of the businesses in Stowe, I bet their activity is akin to a considerably larger town. If you think about how the day to day population grows with the influx of skiers and other tourists, it looks like a bigger town than 4400 residents. https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/burlingtons-property-reassessment-has-set-record-high-values-whats-the-cost-to-residents/Content?oid=32909386
  2. I go to bed at midnight and get up at 7:00 am. Solid 7 hours.
  3. Definitely not going to argue with a forester but I think of full leaf out as the end of the process. But that’s just me.
  4. 34.5° and about 1.25” over the last couple of days. I know the weather suck but I’ve been in the woods a bit over the last week and it was actually pretty dry for this time of year.
  5. 1 Angel’s Envy and 1 Maker’s Mark 46. Both pretty good bourbons.
  6. And at least in this area, all the small stores that sold general merchandise were gone before they came in. Walmart was late here too. I don’t care for Walmart with but by the time the got here, finding affordable general merchandise was difficult in a lot of small towns. Face it, I’m not buying underwear and socks from a chi-chi boutique.
  7. Dollar General is everywhere. There are 2 in the small city near me, population 9500. Plus one in our town and one on the neighboring town on the other side. 4 within an 8-10 mile stretch.
  8. I've had about 1.1" between yesterday and today and 1.74" for the week
  9. They actually had the same thing happen at the golf course I'm a member at. It happened on 2 greens. Luckily they were small spots but it took a while to fix them
  10. 1.73" here this week. Lawns are starting to get that Irish green look.
  11. Depending on the timing, I would contemplate making the drive from NNE to do that.
  12. Really noticed the greening this morning. I had to drop my son off at school and then stop down at the vets to pick up some tick stuff for the dog and the lawns really seemed to accelerate the green up process, even since yesterday. The misery mist that was falling does tend to make stuff look extra lush though.
  13. Too bad for him but I love seeing the Mets struggle. They might be my least favorite team
  14. When I got mine, it was a night when it was raining in the surrounding area. I went to the course anyway figuring I’d at least have a beer and a burger since my wife never expects me home on Tuesday nights. The weather kept the number of people on the course to about 10 or 11. We had a cash insurance pool and the club’s insurance policy paid out $300 in pro shop credit. It worked out well for me.
  15. If we are going to have a wet day, a Wednesday is a good day to have it on.
  16. Now DIT will use that to taunt the pope about his busted snowstorm forecast.
  17. Very up and down. 5 pars, 1 bogey and 3 “others”. Shot a 46. Didn’t get hurt and it was a beautiful night to be outside.
  18. Up to .34" of rain. It's a deluge!
  19. This is true. My best rounds are those where I'm able pretty much blank my mind. It's not even a focus thing or concentration, at least. It's having a quiet mind. This is when I understand what people mean when they talk about the Zen aspects of golf.
  20. I noticed a few when I was out inspecting a new snowmobile trail in Cabot. Haven't really seen many so far up this way.
  21. Is this the line you use on your significant other when you're in a romantic mood?
  22. Once in a while I'll watch a little of the survival show Naked and Afraid. Swear to god the first thing I would do is try and fashion some sort of shoes to wear. There are always some sort of pucker brush, thorns or sharp rocks they have to walk over. Build some shoes idiots!
  23. Playing for the first time later this afternoon. Have not even touched my clubs yet. I hope I don't hurt myself.
