  1. Sorry! Your house is gonna feel so good when it's fixed. This is also going to feel nice:
  2. Just come to Germantown. Haven't even had 0.1 yet. Also haven't gotten more than 1 inch of rain in a day since August 4.
  3. LOL point-and-click forecast for my area has new rainfall of between .5 and .75 inch today and .25 to .5 inch tonight. Uh hard no, unless they meant millimeters. Man is it humid though! Went for a walk and maybe I'll stop sweating by noon.
  4. And for central MD, for the opposite reason. Glad I watered yesterday. I knew.
  5. Looks like another rain event for - where else - southern Maryland! I might get a few sprinkles up this way. NBD though as I watered the flower gardens good today.
  6. The one I remember was 10/10/1979 with 2-3" in northern Calvert. The following winter was decent with 20.1 for DCA and 26.8 for IAD. Oh and Denver - their last three days were 101, 97 and 93. Can you even?
  7. Got 0.9 to go with the 0.5 for Wednesday. Ready for the beautiful dry weekend. Speaking of bugs, I hate the way these new Asian Tiger mosquitoes bite all hours of the day. Also, anyone else notice how LOUD and relentless the annual cicadas have been this summer? It's hard to enjoy the deck with those things making my ears bleed.
  8. This one hurt. Even Germantown proper looks to have gotten it good based on Radarscope. The meat of the storm missed me by two miles.
  9. And it splits with the strong part going into Gaithersburg. Just a garden variety shower with a little lighting. This spot is so uncanny.
  10. That Leesburg cell is headed right for me...we'll see though.
  11. Nice thundershower yesterday evening with 0.5 and a little bit of lightning. No where near severe though. Hoping for more today - LWX bullish on northern/central MD.
  12. Saw this blurb in LWX's discussion: During the latter portions of next week, the window seems to be open for any TCs that develop to strike the Southeast Coast. Monitoring the tropics as we approach the climatological peak of the hurricane season.
  13. My mother still talks about Hazel. She remembers those big, round metal trashcans they had back then flying down the street in her Cheverly, MD neighborhood.
  14. They've confirmed those darn Asian Giant Hornets (aka "murder hornets") out in Washington. One bee keeper out there found thousands of her honey bees decapitated. I killed a European hornet the other day. Mean looking thing!
  15. Still raining with thunder in Germantown with clear blue sky to the west. Was pretty wild for a couple minutes with torrential rain blowing in sheets.
  16. Main line is approaching and I'm hearing lots of thunder with this one.
  17. Really pouring now, but no thunder. Darn gutter is already clogged again.
  18. I'm just NE of Germantown -- just some mod/hvy rain so far. I don't like that hooky looking part on the SW end of that cell.
  19. I told family, friends and co-workers that last Tuesday's snow might be the only one of the winter. I hope I get shamed mercilessly.
  20. Oh they were bad! I saw a few cars slip, especially when starting from a stop. The unplowed neighborhood streets are easy; it was that half inch of new snow on Rt. 355 that was super slick. My 19-year-old son drives home from work at Wegmans at 6:00. Glad he took the Outback! I didn't do the proper measuring and I know was compacting earlier. I have 7" on the ground now with moderate snow, 28 degrees.
  21. Wow! What area of Germantown are you? I am next to Milestone near 355 and 27, and have closer to 6 inches. Just went around the corner to pick up a pizza and the roads are BAD again. Moderate snow and 29.
  22. Best snow rates I've seen all day - almost moderate. They never did plow our cul-de-sac so anything new will accumulate there.
  23. Congrats! That is an industrious young man there. Lot of kids these days are content to just sit around. Steady light snow 2 miles NE of Germantown, with larger flakes mixing in.
  24. Mother in northern Calvert just a few miles south of Wes reports 5.5. That area looks good for some ULL later on!
  25. Just cleared the driveway and walk with my electric snowblower. A cold smoke storm, it is not! That stuff is fairly dense. Right about 5" here 2 NE Germantown, and 29 degrees.
