  1. Start there, can always adjust up if need be. That phrase makes me miss winter storm banter. How much rain did you have all JJA last summer?
  2. It got hot/humid in a hurry with the sun today. Like 84/69 type in the valley. Waited until 6:30 to take the dog out this evening… hazy hazy hazy. Nice breeze up here and a bit cooler now that it’s after 7 and shadowed on this upper east side. Definitely a summer evening. Looks like some heavy rain chances up here later this week, get that time outdoors now.
  3. I figure it was like some sort of body odor that humans can’t smell but can inhale. If an alien was present, you had a super-spreader event. If they weren’t, nothing happened. It would explain the differences in why some large gatherings proved exceptionally efficient at spreading it, while other gatherings saw zero effect.
  4. Plot twist, the aliens knew we found out about them and most of them left Earth for the time being. COVID was what you contracted if an alien got near you.
  5. The two-week GFS map cracked me up. Rainforest coming to New England everywhere SE of a line from the Maine Coast down to NJ. The area that sticks out into the ocean.
  6. 53F this morning to 78F this afternoon. As BTV called it in the morning AFD: Rest of area in great shape with a classic summer time North Country Chamber of Commerce weather day anticipated.
  7. Especially with a foot and a half of rain the past couple months… those backyard stations are situated in a rainforest now lol.
  8. Wow. “NHL goalie killed by chest trauma from mortar blast.”
  9. Non stop explosives. Have been smelling it for the past half hour. People love lighting shit on fire .
  10. Happy 4th to all! Every year we get the best fireworks right in our backyard. The town launches the bombs right over our house. Hard to beat this 20-minute display literally in the backyard... despite the dog thinking the world is ending. Back porch view.
  11. I mean we literally live underneath the town's fireworks. The picture frames rattle. Definitely not a dog owner. It's all good. One night a year.
  12. Yeah weak take. They have no idea what's going on. Hats off if your dog runs towards it with teeth snarling.
  13. My wife stayed with the dog in the bathroom with a fan on. She's hated it for all 6 years of her life. Thinks its WWIII happening. Just shaking and panting. The vibrations and noise crush her. Thunder doesn't bother her but the constant barrage of fireworks gets her extremely anxious, like a panic attack.
  14. Just busting your ballz. A half foot of rain in 4 days, that’s like 6 weeks of rainfall!
  15. Is that a 6.31" just north of Tolland? You owe the models an apology . Hope you get some sun out there on the Cape today for the 4th.
  16. I think we might be able to get some this afternoon. Unless it's self destructing breaks that destabilize, ha. I sort of am hoping some low cloud cover stays around for tonight's fireworks... they can be pretty damn cool reflecting off low cloud bases at like 2500ft.
  17. @OceanStWxwould be enjoying this in the cold season.
  18. They stick out over the ocean. It's a QPF heavy spot when the pattern is there. Especially any upper level divergence along with S/SE/E flow off the Atlantic. If you go from Maine coast to NJ coast, you can see the zone that sticks out into the water. That's climo. The NNE ski town saying is "You come for the winters, but stay for the summers." The summers are great with long stretches of dry, chamber of commerce puffy white clouds. Summer is what really gets people stoked up here to be honest, tourism is even higher than winter. You definitely don't feel screwed by any means if it's not flash flooding , you want to be outside hiking, biking, swimming, wandering around in nature. Not stuck inside while it rains. No one complains up north when it's dry. It's just that recreation-all-the-time mentality; from 5am until 9pm you can be outside having fun in the summer... hiking the ice gulch over there, the Presidentials, playing in the field, exploring the forest. What a place to be outside for the kids.
  19. That’s a wet ride on the ATV. Brap brap gurgle. Always one of the more fun rides though ha.
  20. Looked up the data for Mansfield... same exact weather this afternoon as Christmas afternoon. 51F and rain... vs. 50F and rain. Wet hike today.
  21. Tamarack, I don't know what you did to anger the rain gods so much.
  22. It was 51F on Mansfield in the rain when we were up there. It was 50F in the rain on Christmas afternoon looking at the data. Similar experience both holidays.
  23. Ha whew. You always get me with the “here” phrasing like you are up there. Glutton for punishment from your wife if you dragged her into that misty dark weather from summery mid-Atlantic .
  24. Tell me you didn’t leave the Delaware shore for this weather abortion up north for the 4th?! We went for a hike this afternoon in sheet mist and fog with occasional rain. We look as wet as the dog.
  25. At least we are getting our mid-level banding in July. Good snowgrowth zone too. Some good high-ratio rainfall.
