  1. My wife is in Miami/South Beach for a conference and it’s 85/71 there compared with 88/61 at Morrisville-Stowe, ha.
  2. BTV was 78F at 3am last night. Yikes. Over 15 degrees cooler at that time in most other spots outside the nocturnal southerly flow jet in the Champlain Valley.
  3. That was a terrible call. No doubt, it was well outside the window pane. This team takes advantage of those things it seems. They lead the MLB in come-from-behind wins.
  4. Red Sox finish off a 3 game sweep of the Yankees. “Everyone in New England goes to bed happy” - ESPN broadcast.
  5. With the 00z official highs in, it seems the northern VT/NH ASOS stations of MVL, MPV, BML, HIE all had highs of 90F. BTV with 95F. That's hot. Looks like IZG in Maine also hit 95F. Relative to normal, it's over-the-top anomalies type air mass. Just as hot in SNE, but NNE is trying to match it. Forum wide torch.
  6. Low 70s now, but it is muggy. Summer weather for sure, though acceptable now with fans. A/C off and doors open. I hate having it all locked up, love the fresh cooler night air flowing in even if it's more humid than refrigerant-cooled air. Montpelier and Burlington ASOS stations still in the 80s though after 9pm. Any mixing at all and it's very warm outside. Need to keep this stable cooler air in the valley bottom. If it mixes out, we'll go back up to 80F instead of the 70-73F local stations.
  7. There's a lot of theories about everything on Reddit, ha.
  8. Looks like BTV at least tied a record high, Plattsburgh, NY set a new record though. Montpelier/MPV had a very vulnerable record of 85F today and they got that solidly with at least 88F. Tomorrow's record is 89F and they may get that too but not nearly as vulnerable.
  9. You have some top secret files or some information on there worth a lot of money?
  10. BTV with 94F at the hourly ob... wow. Edit, ninja’d on the 94. Ha, still barely in the 80s at MVL (89F) and MPV (88F).
  11. DIT take his ball and go home right before the real heat hit? Where’s he been, he lives for this.
  12. 1pm up north: BTV 90F MPV 88F MVL 86F HIE 85F BML 84F
  13. Red Sox... this team has got it going on. Love to see it. Tie game in the 8th against the Yankees and they put up a 4-spot so far to try and run away with the game.
  14. Car said 65F driving from Topnotch Resort to home in the rain. It's cool enough that even with high humidity, it's doable. Rain showers around seem to be dictating temperature more than anything.
  15. Right before the real heat. I think the next 3 days will be pretty damn hot in the North Country. Monday looks to be the peak. I actually wish it wasn't raining, even this little bit could increase the dews. If it's not going to rain meaningfully (0.50-1.00" type stuff), I'd rather not add any low level moisture. Let the desert heat rule .
  16. Didn't leave for BWI with the heat coming in? Light rain here at 65F on the car thermometer arriving home. Definitely humid, dew point has to be close to 65F given the rain falling.
  17. BV really isn't that far from Montpelier in terms of overall commute times... would be the highest snow spot by far within easy driving distance. The biggest downside would be that access road that gains 2,000 vertical feet is no joke for a vehicle over and over again, ha.
  18. I’ve heard from several folks that’s an absolutely awesome park to watch AAA baseball. On par with some MLB parks apparently. Being brand new probably doesn’t hurt either.
  19. Just started pouring. Going to get more humid after this.
  20. Elon Musk sending the crypto CumRocket up 400% today within 10 minutes of this tweet. Apparently yesterday he tweeted “Canada USA Mexico” which was highly confusing. But I guess the initials of those countries spell it out. This guy loves playing with this stuff. He tweets and some people make a lot of money. What a world to live in.
  21. Yeah I saw that. Most guidance has something dropping through NVT to SW ME. Might stay north then east of me. Like EEK to GYX line.
  22. 82/59 at MVL. Its warm. Feels like summer.
  23. Yeah it feels hot. All local stations under 1200ft here are 79-83F (MVL 82), and 1200-1700ft is 77-79F. I’ve got a few things to take care of at the ski area and got same 78F at 1500ft. Town is going to bake today... and next 3 days though.
  24. Further west. JSpin on the Waterbury/Bolton line is probably the max point of upslope where all events (blocked and unblocked flow) sort of overlap. Like mreaves said, you can get streamers to squeeze down the Winooski River gap (climo favored streamer area I think due to the gap in the Spine) and follow the interstate... but upslope will have a gradient in there for sure. RT 100 is a good barometer for upslope reach. But on the flip side Mreaves and that area does CAD a bit better in mix events and stays frozen longer... and gets hit harder in coastal storms that have liked to stay SE in many recent winters. It’s a healthy winter climate.
  25. The Rec Path thing is funny because while only 6 miles long in Stowe, the bears all last summer used that thing as their highway to connect all the businesses. They figured out what the humans did... build a non-motorized pathway that connects all the restaurants in town and along Mountain Road. I live on the Rec Path and that’s why we had them literally daily crossing through our yard. People would bike next to them, like they were large stray dogs just wandering around. Must’ve been amazing to them that this pathway went to all their favorite eating spots... like humans driving I95 and getting off at different exits along the way. “Well tonight I’m going to start at Piecasso for some pizza crust in their dumpster. Then get back on the path and maybe we’ll see if there are any tacos for desert at Tres Amigos. But wait, did Sushi Yoshi just dump the leftover fish skin?! Yeah that’ll taste good.”
