  1. Cannot be overstated enough. Today the Cu field and even some convective looking stuff is flaring up now this way. Just had a brief cell drop rain drops the size of small pinecones it seemed like. Splats but wide enough in frequency that they didn't fully wet the ground. Definitely a lot more clouds up here today than yesterday. Must've been the one in a million bright sunny day on NW flow under a cold pool. Satellite loop is pretty cool, just exploded at detonation time.
  2. Nice J. I've stopped skiing for the season, mostly because I love wandering with the dog and she's a pain in the ass to ski with. Just barks and tries to get in front of me. So I'm just wandering around on foot with her. We were up there on Main Street last night.
  3. The only time I've seen that is if they thought or smelled some type of flower or bud in the tree. The bears broke every single tree about that size that was in the Spruce Peak base area (they lined the driveway) trying to get to flowers or something tasty just off the ground. There was even video of him doing it... he'd try to climb on it (obviously wouldn't support him) until it would snap, sending him to the ground so he could get a better sniff at the crown. It was pretty hilarious, the bear didn't give a sh*t... thing would land on it's back, side, head, whatever. He'd barely get off the ground, the saplings would break in half and he would drop like a sack of bricks onto the ground, roll himself upright, and then start sniffing the downed flowers. The other question is, that wouldn't be a bird feeder next to it right? Just a bird house?
  4. The lack of synoptic precipitation events all winter played a bit role. Survived on upslope which really only hits the narrow spot along the Spine. The NE VT area stays dry for the most part. We had a pretty wet April as a state on the whole. The past 6 weeks have been wet it's seemed just anecdotally.
  5. Last fall and winter was a stein... that’s a decent improvement. But it seems the NEK has been consistently drier on these maps.
  6. A little frost again this morning. Temps recovering fast, 10F increase last hour from 39F to 49F.
  7. Have you seen the hacker’s business plan? It’s wild. Also good to know they will now look at their company ethics and only attack ones that will avoid social consequences. The good news is that you can ask any questions in the customer service chat and they will provide excellent technical support upon paying the ransom. “Our goal is to make money, and not creating problems for society. From today we introduce moderation and check each company that our partners want to encrypt to avoid social consequences in the future.”
  8. Weather really doesn’t get any better than this. Length of daylight is hard to beat too... can wander around outside until like 8pm. Haven’t seen any masks out this evening... or people.
  9. I forgot where my vaccine card is. Thinking the wife has it, lol. Not sure I’ve seen it since I got poked.
  10. Stanton is in beast mode, like he got a cheat code in MLB The Show. Looks like 2017 version. We Sox fans are not excited about it.
  11. 67F with full sun. Dews below freezing. Top 10 day. Leave work, go get dog, go back up the road to the Mtn and spend a couple hours hiking. Got to find some snow for the dog to roll in.
  12. Dying laughing at this for some reason .
  13. Still could be a highly at-risk underlying condition type of person. I mean if I had Type 1 diabetes, HIV, was going through some medical treatments like chemo or other immune system issues I might still have a mask on. Hard to judge just from the mask what the background reason is... but oh Americans love to judge too .
  14. Entire US opens back up, no masks, and then on July 4th the Aliens arrive like Independence Day... Will Smith is already training for it.
  15. Yeah I mean it was all just an ask for public safety. Obviously hospitals aren’t being overwhelmed, the southern US ran a fantastic study for the rest of us, the people who want to get vaccinated can do so at this point pretty freely with no wait time. Its pretty clearly the end time. I don’t see many folks disagreeing at this point. Time to send it at all levels.
  16. The same way they knew if people quarantined.
  17. Good call. You are right on the ball to check the model cross sections. I only looked at the Time-Series and you can see it there too... ORH showing the pockets of high RH in the afternoon today and tomorrow.
  18. Ha, right. Very interesting stuff . Cu fields exploding in southern Canada too now with another very weak shortwave dropping south and models have some very light QPF getting near the International border later this afternoon/evening. It does look like we are right in a gap up here now per 6z EURO... some weak energy to the south and weak energy to the north. Slightly lower heights SE NE compared to NW NE until this evening.
  19. Would love to see him organically post a model cross section showing that and explain it.... not grabbed from Twitter, ha ha.
  20. Interesting that the deep layer flow is NW from 850 to 500mb... but the clouds are ending up thickest over the normal "sinking" air spots. Almost like a highly unblocked flow way down wind of the terrain. Nothing over the northern Adirondacks but clouds forming downwind of that zone. Same with nothing really off the Greens down to the west slopes of Berkshires/Taconics.... Northern Whites staying pretty clear too. The usual cloudy suspects on deep NW flow are seeing the most sun today, with the thickest cloud cover the further downwind you get, intriguing. Loop is pretty cool: https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16&sector=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=24
  21. 63/26... bright sunshine. Love the <30% RH.
  22. Nice. You've got a great spot there for my fetish of high diurnal ranges, ha. Having to use the heat in the car to melt the frost of the windshield in the morning, and then in the afternoon you need to have the A/C to cool off the car's interior. The Rocky Mountain valley type summer... 30F at night and 80F by day.
  23. This morning's rise was pretty classic Woke up to frost at 32F early when I let the dog out. A couple hours later my wife has the south facing sliding doors open already. Definitely could see some 40 degree diurnals out there today in SNE. I don't think we'll get warm enough (60s instead of 70s up here). But the morning temp chart's look like a reddit crypto meme "to the moon."
  24. 1-11 with RISP tonight, 8 left on base. Tough game for the Sox. It’s going to be a fun division race. Long season!
  25. Red Sox game was a dumpster fire. Hats off to A's pitcher who made his first MLB start. Sox had several chances to put up a crooked number.
