  1. Yeah that makes sense. It was weird. Enfield had that country, rural vibe just off 89… couple gas stations that have seen better days with some 18-wheelers in the lot. Told my wife there is no way in hell this place is going to make you put on a mask, sure enough she comes back like wtf the Citgo dude over there asked me where my mask was, thought he was joking until I saw the signs still up .
  2. 80/51 Another beautiful chamber day.
  3. Weirdly New Hampshire was the last places I had to wear a mask in mid-June. Stopped off I-89 near Whaleback a week ago when driving the wife to Boston and my wife went in, came back to the car while I was pumping gas and said they made her go get a mask (like gas station, Subway, etc). Credit card statement said Enfield, NH and they still had signs up for masks required but looked like a town declaration. But then on the way back up I stopped at a different town in SE NH nearby and they also had mask required signs up that also looked like another town requirement. Oddly enough two days ago we stopped at the same exact place after I picked her up and in that week’s time they had removed the mask mandate.
  4. Fake cold making it chilly inside tonight. 56F at 750ft when it’s 64F at 1500ft. With WAA go coming in, the last vestiges of cool night air is going to be found along the river bottoms in NNE. We are going to roast.
  5. North America en fuego. But that NW stuff takes the cake. A MOS output, skewed towards climo, is producing 3F higher than all-time values?
  6. That’s summer life right there dude. Living the dream.
  7. Brutal Sox loss. No hitter into the 8th. Pitching only allowed 2 hits and lost 1-0 in bottom of the 9th. The Yankees are going to steamroll us this weekend. The momentum is completely reversed from the first meeting.
  8. What a stretch of Top 10 days this week. One more tomorrow before the dews and heat creep in over the weekend. By early next week it's time to pull up a chair in the river and just sit there for a few days.
  9. Bermuda Blues behind it? He illustrated that well.
  10. 2m Euro products for daily maxes Mon/Tue/Wed:
  11. I dunno man, it looks pretty damn hot. Sure it gets hot in the summer but that’s a healthy stretch coming up.
  12. Bingo. No one was ever swayed politically on a message board in the history of the internet. One of the many reasons politics was a hard no on here for so long, it’s just pointless.
  13. Had to spin up to the Picnic Tables briefly. Another 10 out of 10 day. Nice to see normal summer activities again with families enjoying themselves. Almost a 40-degree diurnal swing in the valley so far. Going to be 80F even up top next week.
  14. Put some relish on the hot dog roasting on the sidewalk next week? Won’t even need a grill.
  15. Heavy stuff right there. Glad you enjoyed the shot.
  16. Ha thanks man. I do sell some but more word of mouth to second home owners around here. I’ve done many of the ski resort brochures, trail map covers, posters, etc over the years. But honestly shots like that one are just daily views from work with an iPhone11 after driving up a work road to check on something. Definitely feel lucky at times to just have that stuff in daily travels.
  17. Impressive. 6 days at or above 70F would be something.
  18. 41F after yesterday’s 42F. A couple crisp mornings in a row before the heater coming up.
  19. 48F here an hour after you, ha. What did your station get this morning? It’s crisp outside.
  20. Yeah fun evenings to be out and about I’m sure… eating and drinking on the patios until late in the evening. That’s what summer is all about. I’ve got friends in both Seattle and Portland (usual landing spots for former BTV dwellers) and the photos on social always look like it’s a great fun place. The geography is pretty wild nearby too.
  21. Sounded like a new crew and some confusion about rope lines. One system was used to raise tools and equipment and he might have been hooked into the wrong line? I don’t know what they were using but at the ski area we have a two-rope system at all times for tower climbs and zipline work/high-angle tech rescue (the zip gets to 200 feet above the forest). So if you are performing anything you are hooked into two ropes for backup. It’s cumbersome but reassuring having a second system to fall back on.
  22. Very very lucky. Any other angle besides feet first vertical and the fall is fatal. Landing pencil feet first allowed for enough absorption of energy (breaking a lot of bones in the lower body to rib cage in the process) to save the internal organs in the chest. It’s like the human body design executed a save… everything else breaks to save the organs.
