  1. 6 runs through 3 innings. Tough to see all the trucks of money paid for him.
  2. 4 runs against Cole in the 1st inning for the Sox. Devers hit that over 450 feet. Love this team.
  3. Yeah I’m watching. Might head down to Woodstock but if it’s going to rain I’ll just stay up north with friends. Be curious to see how it shakes out.
  4. Yeah that sounds reasonable. I mean if low-70s and afternoon downpours is a "win" on 4th of July weekend then the bar isn't set all that high to begin with.
  5. lol. Ginxy going for the AMWX wet award this summer.
  6. Talk about whiplash. That's wild. Folks will be putting winter jackets on in the 50s after 95-100F.
  7. GFS goes from a high of 100F on Wednesday to highs in the 50s and 60s for Saturday Both images are 24-hour max temps, first Wednesday then second Saturday.
  8. Satellites can generate a high-def image of a bear shitting in my yard from space but all we get is grainy Nokia flip phone quality “images.”
  9. Tuesday looks warm. This is probably what I’ll be doing after work (pic from a couple years ago today). Walk out back and sit in the river… the water in the shade under the tree dips to chest deep, for easy cool-offs. From drinking an IPA and reading in the chair, to dipping down in the small pool… this is how we summer in New England.
  10. Looks like they are even forecasting 70s for highs above 10,000ft which is bonkers. Snow melting fast. Classic ski area concern/statement lol, warm and the snow is slow/sticky so need to close the terrain parks. No way they continue operating normally on Monday/Tuesday. Today at Timberline: Sunday (6/27/21), due to the extreme heat, terrain parks will be closed for the day and the Ski Area will be closing at noon. Regular operations will resume on Monday (6/28/21).
  11. Definitely a big change in "feel" from this week. This is now summer evening vibe with dews, difference being no sharp drop in temp at sunset... seasons in seasons. 72/68.
  12. Yeah man. This is summer. Fenway Park packed, classic stuff.
  13. Looks like around two-tenths of water in the Stratus that I’m sure the vegetation appreciates. Showery day but boy is it humid. 71/68
  14. Nice to see some rain falling out there.
  15. Jfc. That noise is insane and the power. Truly just “lights out” type of power, your time has come.
  16. That is incredible. He’s just getting footy for the boys in the middle of a tor. Literally standing there filming as the vortex walks into his living room.
  17. Red Sox take game 1 against the Yankees. Sold out Fenway crowd, you love to see it. Pedroia deserved it. Great guy. Weird story, I literally hooked him up to the zipline at Stowe twice back then. His boys loved the rock gym. Was surprised he didn’t have a clause in his contract that didn’t allow risky activities with your hands. Zip lining maiming usually happens to hands that try to grab the cable to stop.
  18. That's insane for those volcanoes at height. The glaciers are going to be running. Historic heat after prolonged above normal departures? Yikes. One of those events that absolutely contributes very directly to the melting of "permanent" snowfields. Glide cracks, hanging snowpack loosening from the rock below (that rock will warm efficiently in a record air mass), avalanches would be extremely large if they happen as the winter snowpack has melted back to the permanent areas. But jeez, what an air mass progged. The environmental impacts will be large.
  19. Politics are weird (almost like a sport) but have you ever spent good time there? The population doesn’t riot unless a hockey team loses, there’s not this revolt mentality. To that end everyone is very nice and accepting. The citizens don’t get worked up over much, they just go about their lives. There’s a very clean and strong sense of upkeep in personal property, even in the countryside north of us in NNE. The difference between rural NY/VT/NH/ME and rural Quebec is interesting with less visible clutter outside, no cars on cinderblocks haha. Appearance matters to the population, like they are trying to please someone. I think it’s what happens with a very homogeneous population and a strong sense of trust with fellow citizens. You can see it in several northern tier nations across the globe too. Trustworthy, less conflict, and less conspiratorial. This isn’t a commentary on what’s better or worse, more interested in the deeper psychological reasons why. Anthropology line of thinking.
  20. He’s wearing his mask wrong. Although now I know what I can do with our leftovers.
  21. Nah our Republican Governor lifted that stuff a little while ago . Like Dendrite said, some head scratchers for towns in NH that kept mask mandates for a while in places you normally wouldn’t expect.
  22. Yeah that makes sense. It was weird. Enfield had that country, rural vibe just off 89… couple gas stations that have seen better days with some 18-wheelers in the lot. Told my wife there is no way in hell this place is going to make you put on a mask, sure enough she comes back like wtf the Citgo dude over there asked me where my mask was, thought he was joking until I saw the signs still up .
  23. 80/51 Another beautiful chamber day.
  24. Weirdly New Hampshire was the last places I had to wear a mask in mid-June. Stopped off I-89 near Whaleback a week ago when driving the wife to Boston and my wife went in, came back to the car while I was pumping gas and said they made her go get a mask (like gas station, Subway, etc). Credit card statement said Enfield, NH and they still had signs up for masks required but looked like a town declaration. But then on the way back up I stopped at a different town in SE NH nearby and they also had mask required signs up that also looked like another town requirement. Oddly enough two days ago we stopped at the same exact place after I picked her up and in that week’s time they had removed the mask mandate.
