  1. I’ve noticed the sunlight affects me more as I get older. I don’t think it’s the cold or warmth. It’s the light from 4:45am until 9:45pm vs 7am to 4pm that gets me. Weather I can go outside in anything, just give me light .
  2. Not boring? Mount Washington's first snow shower of the season today, lol.
  3. Winter ends March 1st too. No snowstorms after that? Just like no heat after Sept 1st? Right?
  4. You would know more than me, but fall foliage to me doesn't really vary more than a week or so either way. It can start late but then it usually finishes within a week of normal.... or it can start early but still finishes up around the normal time. Like it really wants to find the average dates... which I tell people on the mountain is usually the end of the first week of October, and in town it's like October 10-15 time frame. Columbus Day weekend in mid-October is always busy with tourism traffic and is always too late for mountain foliage but under 1,000-1,500ft you can usually catch some straggling colors. But when folks throw out foliage as being either 2-3 weeks late or early, it is just simply hyperbole because that's like a peak in mid-September to Halloween on either end. It just doesn't happen.
  5. lol wut? 2-3 weeks late is like a peak the 3rd week of October on the mountain and Halloween in town. Hyperbole.
  6. 42F and -RN in town. Wow this is a shock. Radiated to 37F but then clouds and no mixing has locked it into the valley. Clear cloud inversion layer around 1500ft. 42F and precipitating lightly is cold.
  7. Quality control and only just finding that? . Gotta bust balls. The mapping gives a much better visualization though, I’m with you on that. Would be good to see a whole 6-months mapped out.
  8. Ha I was going to say, you can tally all sorts of stuff for Cocorahs. They have water year summaries and stuff. You can find any date range you want.
  9. I’ve actually never played the Mtn Course. But in all my years driving by it, seeing it, XC skiing it, etc I can only image how much ammo would be necessary. It’s basically if you don’t hit the fairway, you’ve lost your ball .
  10. I agree, who am I kidding. It’ll be shorts and a hoodie at work in the 40s tomorrow lol.
  11. Might have to look and see where the pants are? I think I’ve only worn shorts every day since like May. 18z tomorrow, this is chilly.
  12. Can you right click on a tab like you were going to mute the tab? What options do they give you?
  13. Lol I love the warm season too, just can’t stand window units. Quiet wall units like a mini-split is life changing.
  14. Oh I enjoyed summer, I just hate window units with a burning passion. Never would be any sadness in removing one of those from a window and opening it up fresh to the world lol. I can’t imagine being locked up for so many months with those things. But it’s a necessity. The darkness this time of year is definitely the worst part.
  15. Man you guys all hate being able to open your windows, have it quiet and see outside don’t you? .
  16. Gotta start somewhere…at the picnic tables. “Given 850 mb temperatures dropping between 0 and -2 C late Wednesday, the threat for some very light mountain snow showers continues to look plausible but will likely be confined to the evening and overnight hours as temperatures will only be marginally conducive for the potential of light snow. No accumulation is expected given antecedent soil and ambient temperatures but it marks the change of seasons across the North Country.”
  17. Yeah get hot at the right time… or even get a couple players hot at the right time. Like Stanton single handily won that series. That’s all it takes in a best of 5. Part of me sees the Yankees having a tough 6 games left but if they do well against the Jays and Rays, they will have sky high confidence. If the Red Sox do well against the Orioles and Nats, it’s like ok fine but doesn’t mean much for confidence.
  18. Yeah I’m with you. Found no redeeming value to today unless you like to have a reason to stay indoors. Today was the first real dark, overcast, rainy, chilly type day yet. Just never seemed to get bright out at all.
  19. What a bizarre season for both teams. Highs and lows. Started with two straight sweeps of the Yankees by the Red Sox… ended with two straight sweeps of the Red Sox by the Yankees. Season series 10-9 in favor of the Sox but basically dead nuts even. Entertaining year for sure between the two clubs.
