  1. Beautiful Saturday morning to be out in the mountains. Just some high cirrus about but mostly sunny in ge real.
  2. We are +5.6 above normal on the month up here at MVL… and I think almost 2” above normal rain. +5.6 MVL +5.5 BTV +4.9 MPV Most of that is the 7 straight days of +10< and 4 straight days of +20< departures. Hard to come back from that to anything but a torch month.
  3. Yeah pretty uniform 63-67F across the north. Day started off with heavy freeze, frosty yards and rooftops, now gorgeous.
  4. 66F off a low of 28F. Should be able to get the 40 degree spread today.
  5. Not an ideal week, mid-30s and raw outside. Clear skies should dry it out.
  6. Going to be some tough days next week too. The pattern persistence may wear down on optimism as we head deeper into the warm season.
  7. It's not cloudless 70+, no, but coming out of winter with increasing daylight it feels better than it should? You guys looked to rain today. Up here we had some early rain drops, waking up to wet ground. But the day trended nicer. It was an acceptable afternoon solar-hour period; cool but the sun helps "cloud judgement" this time of year.
  8. What a great evening outside. Some puffy Cu floating around, temps great for putting in some effort uphill. I find myself agreeing with DIT on these days have found a way to be better than they may first appear. Golf course looking quite green with the snow fertilizer.
  9. Love this time of year for the daylight. We all know that one can take advantage of the late daylight... following months of early darkness. The increasing daylight in the spring is by far the environmental factor that hits the strongest. It was 6pm today when I was able to relax high up on the mountain and enjoy the extended light this time of year. Love summer evenings and these spring evenings remind me of that daylight. One can wander around high in the mountains after work and delay dinner as long as possible. Eating dinner takes place later than 8pm these days. Love it. None of this darkness at 4pm and eating dinner super early at 6pm type stuff.
  10. Yeah! Some good content lately up high. Have seen 3" cumulative inches at 3,000ft the past few days up this way. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CreTtfwJ6FN/
  11. Love how mountain peaks poke up into different weather than we see in the inhabited elevations. MWN looks to have received some snow above 5,000ft.
  12. Could be worse for sure. Enjoyed a nice post-work hour skin up for about 2,000 vertical feet of skiing. Folks are still out enjoying it, decent post-work crowd today. Warms up with sun but wet flakes when showers move in.
  13. Yeah July 3rd or 4th in 2021 was when the Mansfield summit saw the same temp as like Christmas Day that previous winter. It was something like that. Both holidays terrible for the opposite reason (torch Xmas and raw cold 4th).
  14. Good point. Soggy fields and trails add to that “spring shit” vibe more than 55F bone dry reg flag weather stuff.
  15. lol. Definitely first world problems. As the forum shes though, the bookend seasons become less and less appealing. Maybe Kev had it all along… just go deep winter to deep summer and try as hard as possible to avoid anything in between those two things.
  16. I remember as a kid loving sports in those cooler 50s and 60s, much more than 80s. Though I’m sure parents sitting on the sidelines not engaged in activities differ in opinions. Overall though if it’s north of 50F it’s not that bad coming out of winter. 55F in October after summer heat has people wearing winter parkas with hats and gloves. 55F in April after winter hits much easier. It feels like hoodie weather. Which is sort of what late April should be?
  17. Today seems worse than yesterday up here at this time. Yesterday was patches of blue sky mixed with graupel convective cells… this is just slate gray low overcast and cool.
  18. That’s a good way to put it. Not worst case scenario but not good either.
  19. It’s like some parallel universe when TauntonBlizz starts advocating a glass half full outlook on weather instead of half empty. Sounds like everyone is sort of talking about the same weather though, just interpreting it differently. 55-60F with brief showers/cores mixed with sun can both feel bad when raining but then a couple hours of sun at 60F also feels quite nice this time of year. Its not beach weather but it’s also April. Could easily be cooler/nastier for an extended period of time. Probably rooted in perspective. 36F and dense fog here this morning, not beautiful, ha.
  20. Ha! They are such resourceful creatures that take path of least resistance, but that one is on you lol. Broke into a friend’s jeep last summer for donuts, never leave your doors unlocked either. There’s a mom and two cubs in my neighborhood that I haven’t seen yet but several neighbors have past couple days… the bears are alive.
  21. Had a few periods of ok weather today between graupel, rain and snow showers. Got a skin and ski in this afternoon, snow level was around 3,000ft when the cells would move through.
  22. Hilltops around here got dusted up last night.
  23. Just around 2” at 3000ft. Getting graupel now at the office at ski area base. Loud stuff.
  24. So jealous. Dark low clouds here.
