I had white out conditions for a solid 30 minutes this afternoon but otherwise just light snow/flurries but everything is covered in snow again (though the deck is clear due to the blowing snow). Both models and LWX disco point to the evening when snow would accumulate/pick up in intensity as lift and moisture improves. This wind is nuts. ETA: And on cue, snow picking back up again.

12z EPS has a pretty good signal for a coastal on the 7th/8th on the MSLP anomaly maps. Waiting for the precip/other maps to roll in.

Temp down to 29 and wind is roaring again after a bit of a “lull” the last few hours. Gusts into the 50s and 60s again - trees are bending sideways in the biggest gusts. We lost power briefly earlier but thankfully still going strong. Had a few snow showers earlier that dropped a coating.

Yep, the wind sounds like a freight train…highest gust I’ve had is 60. Down to 39 and steadily dropping. I think we’re locked in for 8-12”+ this week…enjoy the chase! ETA: A few wet snowflakes mixing in with the rain.

Interesting temp story. Got up to 52 earlier today, then dropped back to 42, now back up to 50. And two miles south of here in Swanton is in the mid 30s.

He thinks the pattern favors south of NYC so he could be thinking higher totals here.

18z GFS upped the ante for tomorrow with 4-6” along/west of the Allegheny Front. Gusts 55+ for several hours - best to be prepared for power outages with that. Shows another 6-8”+ this week after tomorrow’s event too.

To my weenie eyes looking at MSLP anomaly maps, chance on ~4th with a low passing to the south and again on ~6th with a coastal popping.
