    This is of course the problem. We have no validated past history and the model predictions are just that predictions. This is of course simple cyclical climate change. That said I am all about doing good things for the old planet earth! However seems a bit pompous to me to believe little old humans can do anything to impact the climate.....well except to cause UHI contamination....

    We have picked up .05" of rain this AM we could see a few more showers today but most of the heavy rain will be to our east and north. Clouds linger tomorrow but the sun returns and finally some warmer weather by Sunday and this sunny above normal stretch should last till next weekend when we see temps slip back below normal averages for early October. Records for today: High 93 (1921)/ Low 31 (1947) / Rain 1.84 (1924)

    Today will be our 15th straight below normal day across Chester County. Dreary chilly weather returns later today through early Saturday AM. The heaviest rain looks to stay east of Chesco but up to a 0.50" of rain can't be ruled out especially in eastern spots. The Sun returns on Sunday and we begin a nice warming trend for the first week of October. However, signs point to that being short lived as some chillier weather looks likely to move back in during the 2nd week of the 10th month! Records for today: High 87 (1921) / Low 30 (1947) / Rain 2.97" (2004)

    The sun has returned! Of note I did record the first temperature in the 40's this morning since June 8th. Today and tomorrow look dry before more showers by Friday AM. We then clear out for the weekend and begin a nice warming trend. We should see well above normal temps by Sunday and see it continue for potentially the first couple weeks of October. As Ben Franklin said autumn in PA is the "most agreeable time of year" from a weather wise perspective. It should also be great weather as the Phightin Phils begin another Red October on Tuesday! Go Phillies! Records for today: High 92 (1900) / Low 30 (1947) / Rain 4.02" (1985)

    The light rain and drizzle has added up to another 0.13" over the last 2 days for a total of 3.38" since Saturday. A bit more drizzle today but finally drying out with the sun returning tomorrow! Shower chances return Thursday night into Friday before clearing out and getting warmer by the weekend. Records for today: High 93.5 (1895) / Low 30 (1922) / Rain 2.28" (1902)

    Looking ahead based on the NWS forecast for the remainder of this week/month we look on pace to finish slightly +0.5 degrees above normal. This would be good for the 63rd chilliest or 67th warmest September on record....depending on your view. The top 10 warmest Septembers are below. Of note all but one of those warm Septembers occurred prior to 1961.

    We have recorded a 3 day total of 3.29" of rain so far here in East Nantmeal. Some more light rain an drizzle is possible especially late this PM and evening. The sun should return for Wednesday and Thursday with the next chance of showers by Thursday night into Friday. Low temperatures both Tuesday and Wednesday night should be in the below normal 40's. The last 11 days have featured below normal temps and this looks to continue through the last day of the month which is Saturday. Records for today: High 93 (1970) / Low 34 (1983) / Rain 3.00" (1940)

    As of 10am we have received exactly 1" of rain so far here in East Nantmeal with 0.30" since midnight. More periods of rain will continue today into tonight much of this due to some local enhancement of the rain due to a modest upslope flow from the east. The weather should slowly improve by tomorrow but smaller chances of rain can continue till Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to run well below normal with highs in the low 60's before warming to closer to normal by the end of the work week. Records for today: High 93 (1970) / 32 (1963) / Rain 2.79" (1912)

    As of 10am we have received exactly 1" of rain so far here in East Nantmeal with 0.30" since midnight. More periods of rain will continue today into tonight much of this due to some local enhancement of the rain due to a modest upslope flow from the east. This is due to a little extra lift as air ascends up the hills across the area squeezing out some additional moisture. The weather should slowly improve by tomorrow but smaller chances of rain can continue till Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to run well below normal with highs in the low 60's before warming to closer to normal by the end of the work week.     A pretty big early season noreaster is on the way that will impact the County this weekend. Look for rain to arrive shortly after midnight and fall heavy at times tomorrow through Sunday morning. It should become more showery in nature by Sunday into Monday before ending. Of note tomorrow will likely see many of the higher spots across the area fail to escape the 50's for high temperatures....so a mighty chiller early fall day which arrives at 2:50am overnight tonight.     I figured I'd take a look at the departure from normal for astronomical summer....looks mighty normal for all of PA .
