  1. High today 89.0 on VP2 / 88.5 Tempest / 87.4 Ambient - I was able to determine my fan aspirator is not working on my Davis VP2 this may explain why it has been running consistently warmer than my other stations and KMQS of late....
  2. 1st 90 of the year - however a dirty one with rounding at 89.7 - also 1st 90+ day at KPTW and KMQS airports - our last 90 degree reading was last July 21st
  3. Temp already up to 88.1 - good shot at 1st 90+ day since last July 21st - fingers and toes crossed we don't get many shots at 90's along the frozen tundra of NW Chesco....down the shore in Sea Isle a beauty of a day with a nice sea breeze and low 70's
  4. PHL with their 4th 90+ yesterday while here in NW Chesco still no 90+ temps yet this year across KMQS, KTPW or East Nantmeal...maybe today??. Across my 3 sensors here in East Nantmeal we had 86.4 on the VP2 / 87.1 on the Ambient and 88.7 on the Tempest
  5. So below are the warmest summers (June-August) in Chester County recorded history. Of interest 9 of the 10 warmest summers occurred prior to 1944
  6. could it be dare I say an "alternate truth" ?
  7. Well first off thanks to my fellow Chesco neighbors Maureen and Tim for the email message both asking me to perform an analysis of Summers in Chester County away from the City - can't believe I never looked at that - thanks guys! So with the summer months (June-July-August) now here I indeed went back through the data set to analyze the Average Summer Temps by Decade since the 1890's here in Western Chester County PA. Some will no doubt be surprised that the top 5 warm decade summers all occurred prior to 1940
  8. Never made it out of the 60's down the NJ Shore with a high of only 67.1 off the chilly ocean waters still in the upper 50's at Sea Isle City but inland starting to get a bit sticky with another below normal high of only 73.8 back in NW Chesco
  9. Shhh shut down any debate (or be subject to cancellation) from anyone who has a different scientific view of the clear "settled science" that 97% of scientists believe....be very very quiet or be dismissed!!
  10. For those that like their data raw and without adjustment decades later....some humor....
  11. Here in East Nantmeal Twp. 3.33" of rain in the gauge over the 3 days with 3.00" on the Davis VP2 and 2.64" on the Tempest station. The 4.55" that has fallen the last 6 days brings the May total rainfall to 5.80" which is +1.45" above normal. Year to date we are up to 19.58" only 0.18" below our normal through the month of May. Our chilly spell will also ensure this is our 2nd straight below normal May regarding average temperatures - of note this is our 4th below normal May over the last 6 years in Chester County PA
  12. Indeed yesterday was the coldest day ever recorded so late in the spring season here in the philly burbs of Chester County PA...today we will again shatter a low max record 57.0 (1953) by at least 7 degrees. We should max out a bit warmer than yesterday's 48.6 to not set a new late season cold record but it could be close depending how much rain we get into during the peak warming hours.
  13. Of course with the warming we have also been getting snowier....so maybe it will work out for winter weather fans. That said I expect the next cooling cycle to begin during the 2030's which should last into the 2060's before starting the next warming cycle....but I won't be here by then
  14. who would ever argue the earth is not warming during this current warming phase? the data is clear!!
  15. How impressive is today (if we can hold in the 40's till midnight) within our current warming phase of climate change that we can somehow have the coldest day so late in the season....ever.... by not just a couple of days but by more than 2 weeks in the last 129 years of NWS records in the philly burbs....
  16. Yesterday marks the latest freeze in recorded history for Chester County with the 32.0 reading back on the 28th back in 1927
  17. East Nantmeal - 2.44" on the VP2 with 1.89" yesterday and 0.55" so far today vs. 2.62" on the Tempest with 1.88" yesterday and 0.74" so far today Not at home so will have to check gauge when I get back for "official" number
  18. 1.39" and pouring rain in East Nantmeal Twp in Chester County PA..while just drizzle down the shore in Sea Isle City NJ
  19. Missed that thanks! Trees come down so often out here it is hard to notice sometimes!
  20. The Next 2 days could be the coldest days in late May since Temperature record keeping began in Chester County PA way back in 1894. Tomorrow's low Max is 54.9 (2014) w/ Sunday 57.0 (1953)
  21. 0.48" with the 1st wave this evening here in East Nantmeal
  22. Storm as you can see on the radar is about 5.5 miles NW of my location here in East Nantmeal Twp in Chester County
  23. WXSIM forecast for this week has what it calls a couple "unusually hot" days both today and again Wednesday...that said it still keeps us shy of the 90 degree mark....I suspect we get pretty close to 90 today and eclipse the elusive mark on Wednesday....we shall see WXSIM text forecast for East Nantmeal, initialized at 10:00 AM May 23, 2021 _______________________________________________________________________________ This afternoon: Partly cloudy.
