  1. Rain Total in East Nantmeal via VP2 was 4.60" - of interest the Tempest was only 3.84 an hour ago and it would now appear they have adjusted it up to 5.81" - I will await the "official" CocoRahs reading when I get home
  2. Up to 3.10" in East Nantmeal on the VP2 station and 3.03" on the Tempest so nice agreement on the automated stations - that said suspect more than that in the manual rain gauge in NW Chesco. Down here at the shore we had some sun and much warmer with temps in the low 80's while East Nantmeal stayed in the chilly 60's all day
  3. With today's high of only 86.7 on the VantagePro / 87.3 on the Ambient Station at 89.4 on the poorly sited rooftop Tempest station. We are likely finished with 90 degree days here for the summer of 2021 in East Nantmeal Township. So we should end the summer with 3 days over 90 on the VP2 / only 2 days on the same sited Ambient and 8 days that exceeded the 90 degree mark up on the roof top Tempest Station. A poorly sited station certainly does make a difference!
  4. 12th 90+ day at PHL here in August - while both KMQS and KPTW have had 12 such days all summer
  5. Only 7 days this month have had lows over 70 in Western Chesco - however this AM's low of 66.9 did break a string of 3 straight days over 70
  6. 7th straight day of rain across NW Chester County Pa in East Nantmeal Twp. with 2.22" during the last week with 0.71" today. Month to date we are 0.70" above normal. Only picked up 0.12" down in Sea Isle City with the brief evening T-storm
  7. Something appears to be incoming looking at the radar and out to the NE down here in Sea Isle City NJ....was a hot day with a land breeze high of 88.0.....
  8. 0.38" for this event so far here in Western Chester County PA - 3.48" so far this month vs normal of 3.44" through today....
  9. Hi Tip - the point is even in our current warming cycle of climate change - the apparent lessening of extreme (if 95 degrees is extreme?) may support the idea that the warming is derived more from the higher min temps than the high temps - supporting the increasing average temps.
  10. Charlie that is a fake news site from 2018 "kids lives matter" ....let's come up with some real data
  11. Like anomolus heat in the west has anything to do with worldwide climate change - I find laughable!
  12. Then please show the correct non-"misleading" charts that refute these....thanks!
  13. I don't normally track that but I do have it - will need to look it up...no doubt it must be high as DPs were unreal last week!
  14. Through yesterday even with our recent hot streak we are still running exactly 1.0 degrees below normal for August. This morning's low while the warmest of the month at only 70.5 - while well above our average low of 63.3 for today is still well below the warmest min temp for the day which was the 75.4 back in 2005
  15. Besides Mt. Pocono only "Mt." East Nantmeal again escaped the 90 degree mark - high today only could top out at 89.2 (although the roof mounted station did hit 92.3)....of note today was the 3rd straight 90+ day at KMQS airport marking their 1st Heat Wave of the year!!....that said still zero heat waves this year at either KPTW Pottstown airport or East Nantmeal - PHL has now recorded their 5th heat wave of the season
  16. Made it up to 88.7 on the VP2 - last 90+ was way back on June 30th/ But did touch 89.2 on Ambient and up on the roof the Tempest did hit 90.7 for the 7th time this summer (roof mounting can get me my 90's!)
  17. Has August been off to a chilly start? yes! the 1st 4 days are the coolest start to August in NWS history since 1894 in the Western Chester County philly burbs..of course that means some hot days ahead of us to help even us out before months end - below are the top 10 coldest starts to August
  18. Kind of interesting with today's Hi/Lo splits of 73.4/58.6 the average temperature for the 1st 2 days of August have been the chilliest first 2 August days on record in Western Chester County PA since NWS COOP records began back in 1894 - average temp of 65.2 which is 9.8 degrees below normal....which of course means some nice heat on the way next week even if you are not a model watcher.....
  19. Today will set a new record low max temp (68.7) for Western Chester County PA breaking the old mark of 73 set in 2013...and the earliest August high temp below 70 degrees since August 3, 1921- 100 years ago! Also 0.32" of rain today
