Yesterday was our 10th straight below normal day. That changes today as a very brief potential heat wave impacts the area today through Saturday. The peak heat will be tomorrow PM when most spots in the county should touch the mid 90's. Much cooler weather returns by Sunday with another stretch of below normal temps including most nights reaching the 50's for lows. A wide range of rain totals across the County yesterday with as little as 0.12" in Chadds Ford to near 4" in Central and Eastern sections. We should top out short of 90 degrees today across most of the county but Thursday through Saturday we should see temps in the lower 90's for most. The heat will only pay a brief visit as has been the case this cool summer with temps likely not escaping the 70's by Sunday. Records for today: High 99 (1940) / Low 48 (1977) / Rain 1.64" (1994)

Some showers moved across Southern Chester County this AM with some additional showers possible through later this PM. Our temperatures should rise to near normal for the first time in over a week. Our chances for a heat wave for Chesco appear to be fading as it appears we may just miss 90 on Wednesday especially across the relatively higher terrain. However, both Thursday and Friday should exceed 90 before we cool back to near normal by the end of next weekend. Records for today: High 95 (1918) / Low 48 (1985) / Rain 1.23" (1911)

In fact we could see our first "heat wave" (3 consecutive days over 90) since July 19-21, 2020. In fact in the last 20 years we have only recorded 10 "heat waves" in total here in Chesco! This heat will be short lived as the pattern will shift again by next weekend and we look to go back to near normal to below pattern through the first 10 days of August. Hi Kevin I am here also... quite a bolt of lightning around that time also. I measure 0.27" yesterday....some heavy rain falling again here this AM with another 0.13 so far

We received a total of 1.23" of rain over the weekend in East Nantmeal. A bit hazy again today thanks to our friends to the north. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80's for most of the county but humidity levels will be lower than yesterday. Rain chances increase again by later tomorrow and again on Thursday and Friday.
