  1. Our 2nd 80+ day here in East Nantmeal and our warmest at 83.7 currently. The Chester County record should be safe as the mark is 88.0 back in 1990. Even up to 83.6 for a high on the beaches in Sea Isle City NJ at 83.6 so far - I expect the sea breeze to kick in shortly and cut those temps back to the 60's with those still chilly ocean water temps in the low 50's
  2. Our low in NW Chester County of 31.3 marks our 4th latest freeze in the last 20 years - the latest during that time frame was just last year with the last freeze on May 10th....looks like our cooling cycle may be starting early.....
  3. April 14th was the last day the average low temperature falls below 40 degrees until October 28th. This morning's low was 38.2
  4. Winter weather analysis for Chester County PA. Dec-March months since 1894. Our current cycle of warming has produced 7 of the warmest winters since 2000...including the top 3. Conversely, it has also delivered 3 of the coldest winters since 2000. When will the next colder cycle start?
  5. 0.52" in coco bucket and 0.63" on tempest station
  6. Installed the Tempest on the roof at the end of March. Below is my 100 day temp comps between my 3 stations and KMQS. The Vantage Pro 2 has run consistently slightly warmer with 81 of 100 days warmer at KMQS than here in East Nantmeal. The Tempest and Ambient stations are almost perfectly synced with KMQS. The frozen tundra is turning into a dreaded "heat island" of Chester County....Could my VP2 be in need of a replacement?
  7. Quite the difference between here and Southern Chesco - only .02" here. Little bit of sun and DPs up in the upper 50's now - also seeing some fog starting to roll in off the chilly ocean down the shore in SIC
  8. A general 6" to 9" fell across the higher spots of Western Chester County with another few inches a couple of days later.
  9. Today back in 1916 began what would be the final day of the 25th largest snowstorm in Chester County history with a final total of 15.4". This however was not the largest April snowstorm on record that of course would fall to the 1894 Wet Snowstorm that resulted in 28.2" of snow. Of note much like the famous Morgantown 50" snow that fell just up the road from here in March of 1958 - the temps never fell below freezing - with the temp holding at just above freezing for the duration and yet still accumulating over 2 feet. Proving when it dumps....even with April sun agle it shall accumulate.
  10. ome light snow here in East Nantmeal in NW Chester County over the greening grass. Welcome to April and Happy Baseball Opening Day - it really should be a national holiday! Go Phillies!!!!!
  11. 0.48" earlier with another 0.35 with the FROPA - total rain today 0.83" here in NW Chester County PA
  12. We may not ever hit 90 degrees here this summer on top of the frozen tundra of NW Chesco.....but we did hit 81.0 today here (only 78.4) on the Tempest on the roof - this is the warmest for the date since 1983....but failed to top the all-time record high for the day of 84.0 set back exactly 100 years ago today here in Chester County. Also look at this incredible swing in Sea Isle City as the SW wind finally broke the marine flow - a mere 14 degree rise in 16 minutes....currently up to 80.5 here on the beaches of South Jersey
  13. Still quarantining (after my spring training trip) down the shore for the last week waiting for my negative test to go home. Has been a chilly foggy week down in SIC. Sunny today but can see the fog bank just off shore - S wind is fighting it off for now temp almost touched 60 earlier. While back in East Nantmeal low 70's
  14. Just a bit of a different day between here at the Jersey Shore and home in East Nantmeal - Ocean Water temp still running below normal with today's temps still at 43 degrees....
