  1. Also seeing increased heights in Greenland which is moving the Labrador low into somewhat better position to my amateur eyes.... 2022-02-09_8-38-15.mp4
  2. End or run shortwave is further SW and on the EPS the relative likelihood of 1" has increased....but of course still more to south and east
  3. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/spring-marks-anniversary-of-50-inch-snowstorm-in-pennsylvania/2010478/
  4. 6z Euro moving toward GFS....for what it's worth with the potential SB/Valentines event....
  5. We should never let facts in in the way of a good story....but the spirit is a lot of snow got lost without elevation to the dreaded white rain!!
  6. It's like Morgantown (6 miles up the road from here) 1958 all over again - 50" in 1 day while Philly gets white rain....stay tuned - LOL!!!
  7. Beautiful day across the now snow less hills of Chester County....getting ready for the record elevation driven March wet snow event that will get my area to normal snow totals for the season. It will no doubt happen the week of March 12th when I head down to Florida for Phillies (or not) Spring Training.
  8. Looks like a brief break between bands moving from south to north....snow so far 0.3" here in East Nantmeal Twp.
  9. Some ice build up as we have a steady freezing drizzle and mist - Current temp 27.7
  10. Yep - steady but not heavy ZR with some sleet mixing in for good measure. Starting to see some ice accretion on trees and shrubs but still ok on most surfaces at least in my area. Temp down to 30.5
  11. Just hit the freezing mark here in East Nantmeal with some light ZR falling
  12. It looks like the freezing line is about 35 miles N and 30 miles west of East Nantmeal Township. Temp down to 37.9 - total rain so far 1.17"
  13. Still hanging on to the fog here in NW Chesco - so far up to 0.47" of rain in the coco bucket 0.40" on the Tempest and 0.38" on the Vantage Pro
  14. Nice trends in the overnight model runs! Even if this occurs it's a non issue except for a tree branch somewhere
  15. Accumulated ZR and IP with the latest 12z GFS
  16. GFS has sped up the cold air arrival and now has the change to non-liquid occurring during the 4am hour in NW Chester County
  17. That 0.25" of ice would not be great here in NW Chesco and the LV IF the NAM is correct...
  18. Latest NAM is in pretty good agreement now with GFS on timing of FROPA and ZR start as the 0c surface line starts to reach NW Chesco during the 7am hour on Friday
  19. Freezing temps look to be entering Chester County from NW to SE around 7am on the GFS and getting close on the NAM
  20. January was indeed a cold month here in Chester County. In fact we finished with an average temperature of just 26.6 degrees, our coldest January since the 26.2 average temp back in 2015. Overall it was the 35th coldest January since Chester County records began 129 years ago back in 1894. Snowfall wise we finished with 12.9" of snow which is 2.5" above normal. Precipitation (including liquid equivalent snow) was 3.81" which is 0.25" above normal. Seasonal snowfall stands at 12.9" which is 3.8" below our normal season to date snowfall through the end of January which is 16.7"
  21. Agreed in this area it is pretty rare to go the rain to ice to snow route..the cold air will certainly be drilling in by the pre-dawn hours of Friday morning....
  22. The 1 foot line is a bit off as we will finish January with an above snowfall month here (12.9") in NW Chester County and just under 4" below seasonal norms to date...but for sure more to the north and south so a real relative snow hole!!
